  • Nearly perfect (for me) keyboard
Style: MX Keys S (NEW) Color: Graphite
I've been using the ProtoArc EK01 backlit keyboard for a while and had become rather annoyed at the layout and poor wake connectivity (I'd have to hit a key a number of times to get an input to start). I needed something to switch between my work and personal laptops easily, wasn't wonky with placement of Delete, Backspace and Print Screen (functions I use quite often, with buttons that happen to be very close on the EK01). The Logitech MX Keys S is perfect. I use the Bolt dongle for my personal keyboard (to minimize input delay while gaming or whatever), and Bluetooth on my work laptop.... I even connected the 3rd switch to my Steam Deck, when I need to get into Desktop mode. While I miss the more ergonomic layout, the size of the MX Keys S is perfect for my desk's keyboard tray and it's big enough that my hands are cramped together. The more traditional key layout is definitely a better experience, as I'm not accidentally hitting NumLock instead of Delete or Backspace. Typing is a quiet and satisfying action (I'm not a big fan of the clickety mechanical keyboards that some prefer and if you're looking for that, this is not the keyboard for you). While I do use it for gaming, I'm not a pro-gamer or anything and this is sufficient for me. I'm not sure I'd recommend this for someone who is an avid or very picky gamer-type. I highly recommend it for those looking for a good productivity keyboard who may game for a bit now and again. Connectivity is fantastic. Waking up the keyboard and laptop is practically instant and I have not had any issues, having to wait, tapping a key numerous times to get it to finally do something. As stated, I'm using all three connection options and the MX Keys S switches seamlessly between the devices to which it's connected. Software management is great. The new Logi Options+ software allows you to manage backlighting settings and map select keys. This was one of the biggest problems I had early on with the ProtoArc EK01 (before the connectivity degraded), in that you weren't able to customize anything on it. Logitech has provided users with a great tool to manage some basic functionality, and that's just good customer-focused engineering, right there. Battery life is solid with most Logitech products and the software tool will help you manage it better. Frankly, I'm not a tech tester and didn't put it through any tests like that. I use my keyboard in one spot only, and am probably burning the battery out as I never unplug it. TL;DR, great productivity and light recreational keyboard, with great software management and decent physical dimensions and layout. I can't speak to using it on the go, but for my office set up, switching between my work laptop and personal PC, I have been very pleased. Pros: Connectivity options Quiet keys Traditional key layout Software to manage the device Cons: On the pricey side, >$100 Ergonomics are not optimal My 5-star review is in the context of how I use this keyboard. I love it. It may not be for everyone, but is nearly perfect (for me). ... show more

  • Great keyboard for my purpose
Style: MX Keys Mini Color: Graphite
A couple years ago I wrote a scathing review about the decline of Logitech products quality. I was having problems with the mice, the buttons where acting up, and I needed a mouse (NOW) that worked so I went to the local brick & mortar store and bought the same mouse, which had the same problems. I ended up getting hundred dollar mouse made for CAD professionals. Since then I got a Logitech mechanical keyboard, with the cherry keys, great product and I love it. I've also purchased a couple Logitech mice lately and had no problems with them. This keyboard is much nicer than what I expected, I love the solid feel of it, it is very heavy for its size. I wanted this one for the ability to switch between three different computers. I have one Windows 10 machine and two Linux ones in a corner of my man cave. I've purchased two HDMI KVM switches recently, and both where DOA, not working at all right out of the box, and from different manufacturers. My monitor has three inputs, so all I really needed was a single keyboard and mouse for all three. The Logitech MX mouse is still on the way. The set up was a bit problematic. The Windows machine set up very easy, but after a restart the keyboard was no longer paired. I had to drag out my old one to log into Windows, not so handy since Windows re-starts itself constantly. Luckily, there was a firmware update for this keyboard that fixed the problem. You can get the update through the Logitech software that can be downloaded from their website. On one Linux machine I am currently running Linux Mint. Mint came with the blueman software preinstalled, I had to make several attempts to get the pairing to stick, partly because I've only used blueman a couple of times in the past to pair BT headphones to my old laptop. You must mark the keyboard as trusted to get a connection that lasts. I had a situation where it was connecting and disconnecting constantly until I did that. Works fine now, and it pairs itself after a restart. On the third computer I am running Debian 12, and I have not been able to get the keyboard paired at all. This computer is actually part of my stereo system. It is connected to my amps by way of a DAC, but I can control it from a phone or tablet, or from a web GUI on a different computer. It would be nice if this would work on Debian, but it's not the end of the world. I almost docked this product a star because the product info is not completely accurate. On the product page it says:"Compatibility: Compatible with Logi Bolt USB Receiver (not included) . Logi Bolt wireless products will not pair with other Logitech USB receivers". OK, you don't need the Bolt USB Receiver to use this, I ordered them because it says this. The keyboard works with any Bluetooth receiver, I'm using one made by TP Link and another Knvo. The Bolt receivers are not here yet, they will be along in a couple days with the new MX mouse, even though they where part of the same order as this keyboard. When the Bolt receivers get here I will probably use them, because I had to rob the BT dongles off of my other computers to get this working right away. The limited instructions that came with the keyboard just said to pair it with Bluetooth, it does not even mention the Bolt receiver. ... show more

  • Durable - Smooth Typing with Feedback
Style: MX Keys Color: Graphite
I absolutely love this keyboard! In fact, I purchased a 2nd one so that I have the same setup at home and work. With 2 laptops, I can seamlessly connect either to the keyboards and the MX Anywhere 3 for Mac mouse (I use key 1 for my business laptop, key 2 for my personal, and key 3 for my iPad). I really like the feel of a keyboard that gives responsive feedback, but with arthritis, most gaming keyboards require too much hand movement and too much pressure. On the other end, I don't get enough response from an Apple keyboard. I'm completely baffled by people who have said the keys have delaminated or fallen off. These are solidly built and are of great quality. While they're not inexpensive keyboards, I consider them a good value based on price, quality & functionality. Before I bought these, I was suffering with painful nodules in my wrists. I think I type more than I did a few years ago, and my wrists are back to feeling 100%. Thank you Logitech! ******* FYI, in case you saw my post asking about the MX Keys vs MX Keys S, the only reason I'm replacing one is because I spilled a sticky drink on one. Broke my own rule, and I'm glad it was only the keyboard (not my computer) that got covered in red wine. So please don't think it's a negative comment about the keyboards. Totally my own fault. ... show more
