abunda_amazon_reviews I loved the concept of this lock and REALLY wanted it to work but that was not the end result. On one occasion it just died with no notice even though that it previously indicated that I have over 200 days of charge left. There were several times it would just not connect. The final straw was when it locked and would not connect to the phone. I had to use a screw driver to break open the lock. Kyle Zheng (LINKA Lock) Oct 21, 12:46 PDT Hi David, Thanks for the comparison video. Glad to see you have two LINKA locks, so thanks for the support! It is quite clear that the siren volume is substantially lower from the first lock versus the second. It appears that you've been putting the lock through a lot of usage (a lot of riding, good for you!) and as with all consumer items, over a large number of heat and cold cycles, bumps in the road, as well as if it is rainy in your area, the plastic quality slowly degrades over usage. We have seen this with our internal testing, which we do to 10000 cycles. If this is the case, then we wouldn't be able to provide any replacement, but we will use this field usage knowledge for improving our product over each iteration. It is a tight fit, but I was able to zip-tie the lock to the chain stays with barely enough clearance to allow my rear tire to turn without rubbing on the fender. I used metal zip ties (the plastic ones are weak) and placed the fender between the lock and the tire--close fit! I like the battery capacity--long time between charges. I use this lock in conjunction with the standard chain (I live in a relatively rural area). This combination gives me peace of mind when I leave my trike in public places. I have been frustrated with the occasional lack of communication between my phone and the lock. Apparently, the Bluetooth function sometimes fails. In those instances, I have to turn off Bluetooth on my phone (iPhone 7 Plus with the latest updates) and turn it on again. This usually works, but sometimes I have to do this two or more times.
