I recently received this TV. Unfortunately the TV does not sit vertically on the provided stand....Perhaps that is not an issue of course if you wall mount . However, if you want to use provided stand then this is a major drawback. I cannot comment as to picture and sound quality because I did not get to that point. ... show more

Incredible TV exceeded all expectation I owned a OLED tv and this one is so bright and colors all so incredible the sharp picture is unbelievable so happy with it. When friends come over they can’t believe how clear and sharp it is. I have Apple TV hooked up to it and running Dolby Vision. Super easy set up, no problem connecting to wifi, and a pleasure to watch! I love my new tv and I definitely recommend it to anyone that wants a great picture with all the necessary apps without any fuss or complicated set-up. The sound from the tv speakers is great too, no soundbar needed!

This is a great TV! Unfortunately the first LG 49SM8600 shipped to me arrived damaged. While the plastic bubble bag in the upper right corner of the shipping box had deflated during shipping. With screen illumination, it was apparent the upper right portion of the screen had also taken damage during manufacturing or shipping, with cracks propagating from that corner point vertically across the center of the screen. Amazon sent UPS to pick up the faulty unit at no further cost and a replacement TV arrived within a week. The LG 49SM8600PUA has a great screen, top end (e.g., HDR) features for an LED TV, easy to use controls, more than sufficient connectors for modern audio and video equipment. I purchased this TV for a smaller den room, as a test to see if I would like a larger LG TV for another room. And would recommend this 49-inch model for sure. ... show more

    • Arrived damaged and unusable
The 49 inch tv arrived with the box intact, but after the setup, the top quarter of the screen was blank white across most of it in a slash, with a few irregular lines of color on the right side from top to bottom and no picture. Only about 3/4 of the screen was on. It looked like there were bubbles across the right edge of the screen from top to bottom when the set was off. When it was on it looked like someone ran a white paint roller across it and there was zero display. After taking an hour to carefully disconnect my old reliable Panasonic plasma set of its many peripherals, expecting they would all be included in my new TV, I had to carefully reconnect all of them, including the Roku, the Blu-ray player, the stereo, the Echo Dot, the DirecTV receiver, and the Kinivo switching apparatus that allows use of multiple devices for an old tv with one HDMI port. After three wasted hours, I enjoyed a football game on DVR and Netflix programing again. The level of frustration and exhaustion with trying to change out an old reliable device with perfect color and trade it in for something "smarter" resulted in my decision to keep what works until it quits. 14 years and counting on the Panasonic plasma set with zero problems. ... show more

orded on the 24th of september 2019 and it arrived the next day. Been loving this tv until the 6th of november 2019 just six weeks later and now it wont turn on.

    • Screen goes off suddenly

It has great picture quality and sound but I started experiencing this issue immediately after few weeks. The screen goes off suddenly and I have to switch off and switch it on again. Recently I started facing this issue more frequently.
