  • Overall, not bad
For the price, this is not a bad place to start. I bought this as a gift for my daughter for Christmas. It is great for looking at the moon. Great detail is visible. It would probably be even better with some different eye pieces. The eye pieces that do come with it are average, but like I said, for looking at the moon they are very good. Right before Christmas, we did take a look at the Jupiter and Saturn conjunction and that was pretty cool. We were able to make out Saturn's rings and four of Jupiter's moons. Without better eyepieces, you are not going to see too much detail on any planets, and I have yet to take it out in the dark night to look at other "deep space" objects, but for a beginning, this does have a good quality lense, and with a little more investment in some eye pieces, this will probably be a very decent telescope. You have to have some patients with this in getting your desired object in view. That is for sure an aquirred skill. ... show more
