    • It's terrible, but in the same kind of way old cars are.
If you have the space and budget for a full size lathe, and you just want to get to making things that are not lathe parts, probably do that instead. I didn't (particularly space, because I wanted to put it in a basement without accidentally smashing the stairs). All the bad things you've heard about the mini lathes are true. The compound slide is kind of trash and I replaced it with a solid block of aluminum I had that happened to be within 1mm of the right height. Everything has absurd amounts of backlash. It desperately needs a carriage lock. Everything came pre-lubricated (which would be great if they'd bother to remove all the metal dust first) except the leadscrew (???). Changing the change gears requires loosening a couple of bolts that must be tightened to eleventy billion kilonewton-kilometers if you don't want it to slip and disengage the gears while you're cutting. (*That* was a fun noise the first time it happened.) But under all the weird questionable design choices, it's a solid lathe-shaped block of cast iron. It's a fun project to gradually improve it, in much the same way I assume car people feel about getting an old car and fixing it up over time instead of just buying a new car with a warranty. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It’s a so so machine. Does what I need it to do but with a lot of adjustments. Right out of the box,the Digital read out is missing bars. Tool post needs to be changed. Lots of loose parts before I started to turn anything. Best if you do decide to buy for the price is tighten and adjust pretty much everything and replace tool post. And get way better cutting tools. Mine was even missing a handle. Other than that, it’s an ok machine. I turn derlin homopolymer and aluminum round stock. And it does get the job done. Invest in a few measuring calipers as well. ... show more

The machine hasn't been tested for consumers. There some many faults with this product. I contacted the supplier and addressed the problem of the tool holder too low, tool for can't been centered for small stock. I provided a photo of the issue and depicted what is I was required to raise it to function properly ( a washer ). There response that's okay if that's is what is needed. Not even from them to replace the tool holder system for the saddle. Secondly, there isn't a function to lock the saddle for stationary cuts, it drift under use, in turn contain adjustments which negate many possible accurate cuts. The list goes on and on of the faulty product to mention all the problems I have experienced. I didn't return it because I purchased it for an later anticipated use, which was after the time which returned it wasn't possible. ... show more

Avoid like the C-19 plague. Pot metal parts and horrible machining tolerances. Have needed to get parts professionally remade.

Came in with missing parts, never even ran due to a busted belt (which seems impossible to find a replacement, be nice if one was included) safety glass came in broken. Tailstock is 2.5mm too low with no way of adjusting height.
