  • Worked perfectly
Honestly, this is a really nice cot! My husband and I were contemplating on whether we wanted to try an air mattress again for this year's camping trip. We decided against it, last year's mattress died and we really don't wanna buy another one just to throw it away. Happened to run into this listing and it seemed like a pretty good deal. Best purchase I ever made! makes all the difference in tent sleeping! Both my husband and I are larger people, 220-240lb per person, And we had no problems with stability or any discomfort . So much better than sleeping on the ground or on an air mattress. My one and only complaint is the support bar makes it almost impossible to cuddle. I am a cuddler, and this bar made snuggling a real struggle, especially when the night gets cold. Let me also say that this two person cot works great as a temporary gest bed. If you go into this purchase understanding the you won't be able to do really anything other then sleep then you won't be disappointed. This cot is basically like two individual cots attach together in the middle. However, I have no regrets with this purchase and will definitely be using it again next year. ... show more

  • Works great with a Queen air mattress
I just used this cot over Memorial weekend for a camping trip. Initially I set it up in my living room to make sure it would work and after looking at the incredibly easy instructions felt a bit silly for not being able to get it fully expanded. So I applied a bit more force and there it went, but a little scrap fabric looking piece along with what looked like a white plastic throw away tie ended up on the ground and I had no idea where they came from. Somewhere in the middle maybe? I didn't see anything about taking that piece off so I didn't even look initially, just tried to pop it open like the instructions said. Also found a random nut on the floor after this and I'm still not sure where it came from after inspecting every joint! Anyhow, it set up fine after that. I have a Coleman Ara 6 tent and wanted to use this with my Coleman queen air mattress on top (the kind with a built in motor to self inflate and deflate, also love by the way) but I was worried it would be too big and didn't have room at my suburban townhouse to set it all up. I brought it along anyhow and crossed my fingers... I'm happy to report that it fit nicely in my tent, without touching the sides which was important to me since rain was expected (and happened). I would definitely prefer this setup in a larger or cabin style tent but it still worked great for just me, with a bit of standing room to dress. Besides being off the ground it's great that you can store gear underneath this cot. Not those big plastic totes but duffel bags, shoes, garbage bags with dirty clothes, etc. It was a bit chilly the first night with nothing but an air mattress and sheet on the city and a sleeping bag on top but once I put a blanket on the air mattress it was all good. Everyone was jealous of my luxurious setup! It does take up a decent amount of room in a smaller tent like mine but with the storage underneath it was worth it for me. The great part is I will be able to use this in my spare room with an air mattress for when guests stay over and pack it away when they leave! Is it heavy? A bit, but I had no problems carrying it myself. Is the bar in the middle an issue? Not with an air mattress. Without one it's still comfortable but let's just say you're sleeping on one side or the other, no snuggling here ;) While setup is easy I will say once I got it in my tent it was helpful to have another person since I didn't have the height to set it up on it's side as instructions tell you. I could have after a bit of maneuvering but my friends were there and so she helped. Setup in my home (after the initial) was cake. This is sturdy, well made, and an awesome camping luxury or temporary guest bed. I would recommend it. ... show more

  • Glamping on the playa or on the tundra - a solution for those who don't want to sleep on the ground
I'd had a series of air beds from that Big Name Brand that weren't holding up well for extended car glamping. I like the double height bed, its nice not to climb off the ground in the morning. So I was looking for two things - a cot that got me off the ground and something comfortable. Yes, this cot has a bar down the middle. And it sticks out - you cannot lie on the middle comfortably. But an air mattress makes it livable. And then you have a perfectly usable, portable queen size bed for guests or camping. If you are in a tent, you have plenty of room for storage under the cot. As for the air bed part of the puzzle - look for a mattress made of laminated materials. Lightspeed has a queen size (not the almost queen model) that is very light and fits perfectly on top of this cot. Its made of TPU and has a single seam and seems to hold up well. I put some temper foam on top of it to insulate from the air bed (cold weather camping solution) and the whole assemblage is pretty comfortable. This thing is a beast. Does not come with instructions. Can be interesting to set up in a tent that isn't very large. Set it up at home first. Oh - and the feet can be hard on a tent floor, but some cardboard under the feet, works. ... show more

  • The Guide To Puttin' this Cot Back in the Bag
The cot itself is great! My husband and I are both fatties. One 350 the other just over 200. It holds us with no issues and us surprisingly comfy with an air mattress. Kinda heavy though! Easy setup! The issue is getting this bastard back to it's home. The bag is BARELY big enough. Through trial and error, here is your go to guide. The thing folds itself. Just follow the set up directions backward. On the head side, be certain that no fabric folds between the bars. Bind the fabric flaps going one direction on one side, the other direction on the opposite. Bind it as tight as you can with the handy dandy velco strap. Put your thighs into it! I had mine standing upright, so I just sat and squeezed the bottom half. Next! Get that sad sack ready. You will put the folded middle end (no binder strap) into the end were it zips down the side. The legs should run parallel to the zipper with all the folding stuff dead center. Bring the sides of the sack around, zip up that end, stand it upright with the freshly zipped end on the ground and tap it in tight! Again, reprise that pseudo-thigh master action and zip, zip, zip. I hope this helps you in your struggles. Only four stars because the bag could have been bigger. An inch would make a world of difference. ... show more
