  • descent replacement with some flaws
Color: Gray
overall it works ok. The OEM keyboard is better, if you can find one...and at a sane price. As a BT keyboard, it works, not a lot more to say about it than that. It connects to the PC correctly, and has a nice strong physical connection. The special function keys and lack of windows key confused a few family members, especially because the icons for backlight are weird. The key feel is pretty good, but not as good as the OEM. The main detractors: 1. The backlight is not as bright as it should be. It just doesn't light up the key as much as it should in a dim room, compared to the 3 other backlit keyboards I have, this is the most dim. 2. The battery life is not that long. But worse, the response gets sketchy as the battery gets to its end. The trackpad starts misbehaving or not responding, it loses connectivity, and this is well before the battery light starts flashing. 3. there is one sticky key, not like someone returned a used item and spilled something. It's more like the return spring is getting hung up on the upward travel and takes an extra few milliseconds. Which is incredibly distracting actually. 4. the mouse click in the trackpad has a weird double-click sound and feel depending where you press. It only registers as a single click, but you hear and feel a tick-tick in rapid succession, which is weird and feels cheap. Overall it works and is keeping a surface pro alive since an OEM keyboard is stupidly expensive if you can find one. I will never in my life buy a surface again due to crappy keyboard hinge, and charger connection which is designed to fail, and absurdly over-priced replacements, but that's not for this review... ... show more

  • fits Me and works reasonably well
Color: Gray
I find the connectivity to the laptop slow to start and key press does not work when logging in. I have to use the touch screen for that. Then it seems to work fine.

  • Day 1 - Seems like an acceptable replacement for OEM
Color: Gray
I just opened and connected this new typecover. Will update later with extended use observations and adjust rating if necessary. I have a surface pro 4 and my typecover stopped functioning. Googled the issue, found it to be a common problem, the source of which has not been identified beyond the vague "broken by a windows update." It appears a solution has not been found and is not a priority task for Microsoft. My surface is far out of warranty so I opted to buy a Bluetooth alternative. The shape and feel of this keypad is nice. The flexi part between keypad and tablet is a bit awkward and doesn't have the magnetic stick that the original did. Instead, it seems to rely on friction generated between the keyboard and the table surface to keep it pressed against the tablet. This won't work if I'm using it on my lap, but not a huge deal. This also appears to not have the light magnetic attraction which keeps the original typecover closed against the face of the surface. Again, not a huge deal, just another small feature sacrificed here versus the oem product. Hard plastic is not as pleasant as the soft fabric style on oem, but should hold up better over time. Key differences: The left and right arrow keys are shorter than oem Alt and menu keys have been combined to make room for a key which disables TouchPad. No indicator light on caps lock key, fn key. All keys are taller and sit higher above the typecover surface. Bluetooth connection was quick and easy. The TouchPad is not as precise as the original, but it's okay. Product feels sturdy, secure, well-designed. ... show more

  • easy to connect a little flimsy though.
Color: Gray
this product so far has been awesome very easy to use with the my surface pro the surface usually will die first before the key bord dose. the keyboard connected very easy. giving this item 4 stars. the reason being I use this a lot on my lap and the touch pad will click on its own when it is not on a solid surface. other that when its on my lap works amazing there dose not seam to be a delay when typing witch i though there would be one since it is Bluetooth. been using this for about a month know and was on the road for a majority of that. defiantly recommend if you don't won to buy the expensive Microsoft version. drove from Utah to Maryland with the key bord and used it almost every nitght to do work and its still going strong. ... show more

  • good for the money
Color: Gray
This keyboard works great, for a while. I have had this keyboard for about 1.5 years and it has worked great. Then about 2 weeks ago it severed the connection to my surface pro. It will not connect to any device now. For that 1.5yrs though it worked great. I love that it folds up out of the way and does not damage the screen at all. Is is also very lightweight and integrates seamlessly with the design of the surface pro itself. Overall I would purchase again for the money. ... show more

  • Does the job for the price
Works for my pro7+. Touchpad is a little sensitive but when I connected my mouse, monitor, keyboard Via a hub things worked like a desktop. When I use the tablet it’s great. Keyboard can delay a little As The touch pad but not the end Of The world. If I was Going to use The keyboard As my main working/school Keyboard I would Spend more $. • Great replacement keyboard. It works very seamlessly.
Color: Gray
This product works. I have had it for 3 weeks now and it does the job! Battery life is good and keyboard response time is almost as good as the original Microsoft type keyboard. I read reviews on this product and they were mixed. I was skeptical but still decided to take a chance as I needed a replacement keyboard for my surface pro 7 (the original of over 5 years was bought with a surface pro 4 and was failing due to broken cable between the in the area where the keyboard connected slid into the surface device itself). The unit does not add too much more bulk than the original. It has a good feel, is well made and maybe more durable than the original. I am very satisfied and would recommend it as a suitable replacement for a surface pro type keyboard cover. ... show more
