Top Amazon Reviews

  • Perfect printer; simple setup, and it just works
At the time of this review, the other review is from a "gentleman" in Australia who was upset with Amazon for not listing that the product required 120 volts at 60 hertz to function properly, the type of power delivered in North America. He based his single star review on that, and only that. But these reviews are about the product, not the merchant. There is a different place for expressing pleasure or displeasure with merchants, and while I sympathize with his position, he's giving needless bar PR to what is an excellent multifunction printer. It's fast, quiet, economical, versatile, and easy to set up. Print quality is terrific, scan quality is great, and the software is wonderful. It supports Apple's AirPrint, and this is the first printer made that allows for (if you choose) anyone to print on it from a mobile device in close proximity without being part of a wifi network. I have used and tested all features of this device except fax, as there is no phone line where I installed it, but the client has continued to be happy with it since I set it up a few weeks ago, and now sees why I said a laser printer will be a better choice than constantly buying and changing ink cartridges for a jet printer. I have a 9 year-old Epson multifunction color laser in my office that's still humming along, but I wouldn't be sad if it stopped working tomorrow. I want one of these, and the $400 price for it is VERY reasonable, although I'd get the 476dn with the built-in duplexer. Same engine, same quality, just automatic dual-sided printing. ... show more

  • Great product. Versatile office product. Great print quality.
This printer is very convenient. I have used it to manage all the documentation for buying a house. I simply put the documents in the feeder and hit the "scan to network folder" button. I change the name of the file and hit the "scan" button. I then have a PDF file waiting for me on my network ready to be emailed. It has helped with a lot of things lately. I use it often. The print quality is amazing, especially on card stock. Combine that with a laminator and you have a great printout. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to save money over the long haul who currently uses inkjet. While the laserjet cartridges aren't cheap, I feel like I'm getting a better quality printout for a better price overall. It's worth the extra money. I have used the scan to email feature, as well. It works great. All in all, it's nice to be able to send someone a document from home without having to pay the high prices at the local print shop. Less and less places are taking FAXes and instead are taking PDFs emailed to them, so this printer is perfect for that. ... show more

  • Great printer, EXPENSIVE toner.
This printer is excellent. I have used most of the features throughout the past year of owning this printer, and I gotta say, I have never used a multi-function that does everything so well. The print quality is great, I have printed pictures of my kids and framed them, vivid color, and sharp text, very impressed. The scanner quality is very acceptable not being a dedicated unit. I recently re-scanned a ton of old pictures to have a digital backup, and it worked flawlessly, with output quality good enough to save. The WiFi never has issues. I don't know if I can emphasize this enough, I never ever have reset this printer due to an issue with connectivity, which is crazy to me. Copy's are fast, and acceptable output. Now to the somewhat bad,,,, the toner price is out of control. And will cost you more than the printer to replace all the units. Now, after a year of regular use I have yet to run out, but I am fearing that day. Working for a manufacturer that produces toner previously, I know how much this stuff costs, and really, they could cut the price in half and still make an enormous profit on it. It is what it is, but do consider that when purchasing. I would recommend otherwise, Never owned a printer with so few downsides before, and HP really hit all the right points here. ... show more

  • The choice is obvious
I ordered this printer because my inkjet printer finally died. I have been using HP printers for over 20 years and have always had a positive experience with them. My experience with ink jet printers is that they were affordable but that the ink was expensive and needed to be replaced frequently. This is contrary to a laser printer that has a higher initial cost and a toner that is moderately more expensive than ink cartridges but last infinitely longer. This has been my observation over the last 20 years as I've owned several inkjet and laser printers. Minus the duplex printing which I really don't need, this printer can do it all. I have been using it for just a week and can tell this the best printer I have ever owned. The performance and print quality exceed the moderate increase in price over a comparable inkjet printer. ... show more
