abunda_amazon_reviews I bought the Bondi 4 and the Bondi 5 versions at the same time. I have plantar fasciitis. The 4 version is superior. The 5 in my opinion, have too much going on and the shoe is crazy looking, very wide. I dont care about the look really, i just want to be comfortable at work. I wore them for a shift, they absorbed the shock, but my feet hurt in weird places. I think they are too stiff or pressed down near the top laces or bottom of my toes. Also felt like I I had giant shoes on like Frankenstein. But they are still superior to other brands for walking on hard surfaces. I have the most normal sized feet...medium width, 7.5 and i don't know why but getting wide is necessary with these? Perhaps they run narrow?. I did order 8 wide since i have worn the hoka one valor and they felt narrow. With these the length was ok didnt feel too narrow. But normally i don't need to buy wide shoes. Like with the Bondi 4. Anyways, I'm sad they are discontinuing the 4. My feet are exactly 7.5 and i bought 7.5 with plantar fasciitis in both feet, worked 12 hours the first day after receiving them and the 4 were great. Of course, my feet were sore like anyone's feet would be after 12 hours, so i iced then soaked in Epson salt and the next day, my feet felt fresh for the next shift. I DO have a custom orthotic in them but i haven't found another shoe like the 4! They are my favorite Hokas out of all of them. I have tried like 20 different brands and no other shoe absorbs the shock of hard surfaces like Hokas. If one doesn't get a orthotic from a doctor, these do come with insoles in them. My friend loves them! But i personally need custom support. Road runner sports does do custom, under $100. I did those for awhile. I do prefer my $350 ones through my doctor. Don't go to a PT for orthotics! Physical therapists will charge you so much for orthotics and they are not good. Just try hokas shoes in general first. If you need orthotics try super feet. If those don't work, try Aline, then if not, go custom. Overall, if you can't buy the Bondi 4 and you don't like the Hoka one valor (my second favorite for work), then go for these. However, for running, i would never wear these. Too big and bulky. So in sum, Hoka one valor shoe is my second favorite for working shoes if you can't find the 4s. Worst case, get these...the 5. I've developed a Morton's neuroma under the 3rd and 4th toes of my left foot, and had to quite jogging. Even walking aggravated it; it was just painful. Sharp shocks of pain would shot up my foot every time I stepped the wrong way. I tried many brands of walking shoes looking for adequate support and cushioning, and then I found Hokas! Alas, I can walk again! This is my third pair; the first two held up for about a year and logged between 500-700 miles each. I walk on city streets, gym floors, running tracks, country roads and trails in them and they perform beautifully and hold up spectacularly. I have run for over 25 years on Asics. My runs have shortened from 6-10 mile distances to the current 3 due to some injuries from other sports. I am a neutral gait runner with touchy knees from a skiing accident and a recent issue of arthritis or some sort of inflammation between the fourth and fifth metatarsal bones of one foot. As much as I loved the Asics, they are not cutting it for me anymore. Even on the latest pair of full cushion Asics, my runs would leave me with soreness in the affected area. Also aggravating was that this latest pair of Asics had just fallen apart in less than a year of moderate running (3 mile runs, 3-4 times a week). I decided it was time for a change and I was looking for a shoe that provided maximum cushion and a wide enough toe box to not bother the metatarsal problem. These Hoka One One Bondi 5's are just fantastic. I have never run in a shoe that provided cushion like these. The fit is as expected, rather than having to size up or down a half size as the Asics. The roll and takeoff has a spring in this shoe I have never experienced in Asics. I have read others' comments that a shoe can feel flat, but I didn't understand the difference until I put these Hokas on. Asics are flat; all of the models of Asics I have run on for 25 years are flat. These Hokas have spring. Really a beautiful shoe.
