abunda_amazon_reviews Drank a lot of questionable water in south America with this water bottle. Didn't get sick. Doesn't hold much water so you'd want to be near a constant source to refill regularly. This thing filters black muddy water into clear clean drinkable water, no joke, I did it. Confusing instructions, difficult to use... HELP
As reported by others, a lot of pressure is needed to push water from the outer shell through the container with the filter and into the bottle. Instructions read, "CAP-ON (Avoid cross contamination)". This makes sense, except that when the cap is on, the water doesn't go through the filter bottle. Instead, it wells up the sides of the outer shell and spills out. I checked YouTube and was instructed to press down on the filter bottle with the cap off, but then there's the problem of cross-contamination. Then, I tried partially opening the cap, but when I pressed it snapped completely shut. If anyone has suggestions on how to make this work, I would appreciate it.

Peace of mind while traveling
I traveled with my wife in areas where the water is not drinkable and with this GRAYL water purifier, we were not worried at all about water cunsumption. Contrary to the other principles of suction operations (like a straw) it was easy for us to fill our hydrapack with our GRAYL several times at the beginning of our excursions. Of all the trips, we have never experienced discomfort after consuming local water. It's like home! From now on, I will not travel without it. I highly recommend! pros: Transports well; Usefull to fill another bigger container with purified water; Simple and fast to use; Visibly effective; No chemical to be dosed; Nice look. Cons: Ask for significant pressure; We need to partially unscrew the cap to apply the pressure and sometimes it is difficult to find the right adjustment. Too little unscrewed, the air has difficulty going out. Too unscrewed, the cover jumps treads and gives the impression that we ruin the bottle. (But it lasts actually) Must be dried completely for long term storage and it takes a lot of time! (is not really a cons)
