  • I didn't want to spend too much simply because I wasn't sure if I'd remember how to play or if I'd still get enjoyment out of it
Color: Sea Blue
I used to play the flute for about 6+ years when I was younger (about 15 years ago). I unfortunately didn't have my old flute anymore and have been wanting to get one for a while. I didn't want to spend too much simply because I wasn't sure if I'd remember how to play or if I'd still get enjoyment out of it. With that said, I found this flute for such a fantastic price and just HAD to get it. I am giving this 5 stars because it was exactly what I thought it'd be. I picked it right up and realized I still remember how to play! This flute is perfect for anyone in a similar situation or for someone who just wants to dabble with it to see if they like the instrument before purchasing a better quality (and much more expensive) one. I absolutely don't recommend this for people who are learning to play in a band/performance setting (like school children or if you're taking lessons, etc). The quality is not great and will discourage anyone with a real passion for learning how to play. The pads are somewhat sticky, and the head (the part you blow into) does not create a good sound. It's actually a little difficult and frustrating because you have to hit the air jussttt right in order to make a sound (whereas in a better quality flute, it's quite easy to make a beautiful sound and you're able to learn different breathing/mouth techniques as you get better). The package came with gloves.. Which seemed a little silly and extraneous to me but I appreciated their desire to give the customer a bit extra. It also came with lubricant which no flute should ever use or need it. The case is nice and sturdy and even came with a longer attachable carrying strap. It of course also included a cleaning rod and cloth although I think the cloth should've been about half the size for ease of use. The flute itself is not great quality.. But again, I didn't expect it to be. The price is absolutely phenomenal. And above all, it works. I don't personally like colored flutes lol but I bought the blue one because of the cheaper price tag. Overall I'm very satisfied! ... show more

  • Great value for money/if someone is not sure if they will stick with it? Good for practice / streets
Color: Sea Blue
I ordered mine sea blue. I own other flutes but wanted to check out value for the money and I’m nicely surprised. Sea blue looks gorgeous and plays well. I had no problems when package arrived. Opened and startEd to play and my sound was getting better and better that what usually happens during practice session. So if you order it just let it play and if you wanna judge it then do it on the end of the session. Def recommend for a beginner . Children love colors so the best to order for them the color they like and that can inspire them to play and practice. When I was learning the flute I noticed that some fingerings are very tough on the beginning and flute can be accidentally dropped. So better to drop 80 dollar flute than 1000+ dollar flute. Of course better not to drop it at all but sometimes that may happen. Just saying. Love the small screwdriver included and extras. I recommend to put a bit of grease which is included especially on sliding foot spot you will be glad you did when disassembling it on the end of session. The head joint fits lighter on mine than foot so pay attention to that when assembling first time. On the end if you play flute with B foot using more advanced fingerings by playing C foot flute you can revisit fingerings you stopped using and this can even help with the technique. Overall excellent value like for the money. I will play till pads die and then will be a display piece. Enjoy ✌️ ... show more

  • Excellent flute at an excellent price!
Color: Niclel Silver
I am a professional flutist and was looking for an inexpensive beginner flute to recommend to beginner students. I tried it out and it plays in tune, has a great tone, and looks beautiful. I was surprised by the quality of the flute for the price. This is not the cheap-o quality flute here. It comes with the cleaning kit which is exactly what every flute and flute student needs, the case is decent and it comes with a shoulder strap too. I purchased this flute from this seller for $69.99 in May 2015, the price has gone up a little bit since then. Considering it is a flute under $100 it is a fantastic deal. If you are looking at this flute - you'll see that it has an offset G and a C foot. This means that the Key named G for the left hand ring finger is a little distance away from the flute instead of inline with the rest of the keys. This is a BONUS feature, as the inline G is tough to reach especially for beginners. I have the offset on all my flutes both Intermediate, and Professional. This is a nice extra bonus for this student flute. The other feature of this flute is the C foot. There are only 2 options here, either a B foot or a C foot. C foot is standard on student flutes. It basically means that the lowest note this flute will play is low C, aka middle C on a piano. This is an appropriate choice when you consider the music that the beginner flutist will learn for the first 3-4 years of playing will not go any lower than this C. The B foot makes it possible to play the low B, one note below C, aka one note below middle C on the piano. The low B note is commonly found in more Advanced levels of music. I know other professional flutists that still have opted to keep the C foot, and not use the B foot. I don't know how long it will stand up to a beginner flutist's tendencies to be rough (dropping, banging it into a music stand), but honestly for the price it is far better than renting, and better than a school-rented instrument. If handled with clean hands, clean mouths so there is no sticky spit put into the flute, gets cleaned with the provided swab-cloth, and fingerprints rubbed off with the cleaning cloth each time the instrument is used it could last for many years before needing a tune-up at the repair shop. ... show more
