An excellent tripod for general use
An excellent tripod for general use. The ball head is good and removable, revealing a 3/8" male screw. Able to handle a 32" slider with fluid head and large DSLR and lens atop. Setup is a bit clumsy due to stiff legs but some use may loosen them up. Twisty clamps work well and I believe will last longer than snap clamps on comparable models. Rugged enough to handle everyday use but not for outdoor trekking as that will compromise it over time. But with proper care and prudence the glide gear tripod will serve well. One note: when doing complicated maneuvers like sliding or jibbing the user will need one hand on the tripod to hold it down. It is too heavy, the price for such a lightweight unit.

Hunting tripod
There is always a trade off with weight value strength etc.. this is not a light tripod but it is a fantastic quality product that is made to last. I will use it for hunting and wanted something that won't break and won't need to be replaced after a few hunts. I was looking at vortex tripods that are 3x the price and I'm extremely happy that I chose to save $ and get something that meets my needs.

Great tripod at a great price.
Great tripod. I wanted a good sturdy tripod for travel. I researched many different options on Amazon ranging from $50 to $200 before I pulled the trigger on this one. The GG-665 had all the options I wanted at a great price. It's slightly heaver than I'd hoped for but you end up sacrificing on load capacity and stability with the lighter tripods. It's still lighter than my old tripod and the pack length is great. My first use was on a trip where I only used a carry-on bag. It fit great in my bag and I had no trouble clearing TSA check. My only concern before purchase was the low price because it, in my opinion, had better features than the higher priced models I was comparing it too, and the price was so good. Ended up purchasing it because of Amazon's great return policy and knew I could return it if I wasn't satisfied. No worries. I love it and will be keeping it.

Incredible value
I can't believe the value here... This tripod is the quality of some of the highest priced on the market. The price here on Amazon should be for the ball-head mount alone. Can't go wrong at the price point. My only problem with it is the case it comes with... It's great quality but I wish it was black instead of multicam. There are very few plastic parts. Most of it is made of aluminum which is good but that means it's heavy. For what I'm using it for, which is not photography but to mount my drumming practice pad to, the heavy weight is good. I could see some people complaining about the weight though. The ball head mount spins 360 degrees and is highly adjustable with simple adjustment points.

Great for the money
I’ve been using this tripod for 2 years now, and it’s a decent tripod that’s far better than what can be found at Walmart for about the same price. My only complaint is that when using my FF Pentax K-1 body with my 150-450mm lens the ball tends to shift a little when pointing upward. As far as the weight it’s great for carrying it, but it’s a little shaky. A sandbag hung from the hook helps tremendously to help stabilize it though. I would definitely buy this tripod again.

Ready, Set, Shoot(film that is)
This tripod is well built and sturdy. The fit and finish is top notch and does not feel cheap or flimsy. I would put it in the category as a consumer-professional grade tripod. The legs feel strong and confidence inspiring. The ball is smooth operating and has infinite adjustability. I previously used a $30 tripod to shoot videos for Youtube; that tripod seemed really cheap and seemed to always lean to one side. Not to mention that tripod did not provide smooth and fluid panning like this one. I honestly don't have any negative things to say about the product(which is really rare for me considering how picky I can be sometimes).

AWESOME TRIPOD!
This thing does it all! I use it on a regular basis for my camera! It holds a cannon t7i perfectly. On occasion I have taken it hunting and it does a good job of holding AR15s very steady. You can lock the head of the tripod and the rifle will stay in place. Its pretty great. If you want to use it for an AR10 you will probably have to upgrade the head of it but other then that it works great! Have had it for well over 6 months now!

Great Tripod for my needs.
I ordered this as a compact, easily pack-able tripod for a spotting scope. The primary use is for birding. The tripod is sturdy for a small scope. The action on the ball head is adjustable and smooth allowing ease of following the target bird(s). Very lightweight and easily compacts to fir in luggage or backpack. It is very suitable for a smaller scope or a camera with a smaller, up to 400mm, lens. It will not work well with a larger lens, too lightweight. For my uses it is perfect.
