Description

Generac’s iQ2000 is the ideal generator for powering your desired loads in a variety of outdoor environments, including parks, campsites, backyard parties and tailgating events. Third-party testing has proven the iQ2000 to be quieter than its competitors*, which allows users to provide power to their desired loads without disturbing those around them. The generator can be connected to a variety of sensitive appliances, including electronics, as its digital inverter module converts the raw power it produces from DC to AC power. Best of all, the iQ2000 is easy to use and boasts innovative features not found on any other inverter generator in the industry. While the unit’s Start, Run and Stop functions can be manually set via the iQ2000’s PowerDial, users can toggle between Turbo, Standard and Economy modes through the use of a simple switch to reduce noise and fuel consumption rates based on load requirements. When items requiring higher power outputs are connected to the generator, Turbo mode should be utilized. For loads requiring minimal power output, switching to Economy mode is recommended; Standard mode should be utilized for all intermediate load requirements. To accommodate larger load requirements, the iQ2000 is also parallel capable. Users can nearly double the power output available to their desired loads by connecting two generators through the use of an optional Parallel Kit. In regards to product feedback, the unit’s dashboard bestows LED displays that can be utilized to continuously monitor the generator’s operating status. While the unit is running, users can verify how much time they have left before refueling is required by referring to the run-time remaining display, and the PowerBar constantly specifies wattage produced by the generator at all times. Other innovative status indicators include low fuel, low oil, overload and overheating alerts. *Based on independent lab tests using ISO 9614 to measure sound power levels vs. Honda EU2000i. abunda_amazon_reviews Let me start with I really wanted to like this generator. Its got some features that no other generator in its class has. My friends and family all have Hondas but I thought this would be great if it ran smooth......worth a try. Reviews seemed better than not so why not. Anyway I got it before a 6 day thanksgiving camping trip with the whole crew. it arrived 2 days before, followed the instructions and it fired right up. good start.. it idle's rough with no load in eco mode but I figured it may just need to break in. I put about 30 hrs on it thru the trip and was able to run it side by side with a Honda to really see what it can do. it was able to carry the same load as the Honda. Both ran my 35 ft Winnebago charging the batteries and the microwave for 1:30min. Not on eco mode. Good! all seemed to bee so close. However it never smoothed out at eco mode idle. It runs real bumpy. And when its in eco mode it almost dies every time when you apply a 25% load. more than 3 times it stalled when a load was applied in eco mode. I bought this generator solely to keep my motorhome batteries topped off, charge phones, run the tv and run the baby monitor thru the night quietly. it is quiet as the Honda, hard to tell the difference. I'm actually bummed out its got good features and a good deal. But if it runs this rough brand new, its just gonna eat me up thinking what it will run like in 2+ years. I'm not even gonna try with warranty if it runs this rough brand new........shes going back. May give the Yamaha a try since were headed out again soon..... Update 12-27-17 It never cleared up and continued to stall when applying a load of 800 watts in eco mode. Picked up the Wen 56200i. So far I have 20 hrs on it and it runs like a top. No issues applying the same load in eco mode. Smooth idle in eco and smooth transition when a load is applied. Ran them side by side and what a difference. I did read plenty of previous reviews so I was careful when filling the oil etc. It started on the first pull with a little choke and purrs. It appears based upon previous reviews that they made some modifications to improve it. There is a tray under the oil fill/dipstick to catch oil if it overflows, the front panel on mine was nice and tight and the rest of the unit appears to be put together well. I quickly tested it out with a shop vac and it handled it no problem on economy with plenty of room to spare. I am going to use it this weekend for camping and will update my review after it does a little "work". I have attached a couple photos. Update 8/12/16 - It looks like Generac still has QC issues. I noticed gas leaking out of my brand new generator last night when I went into my garage for something else (lucky I did as it was steadily coming out and the tank was full). The fuel line was just about completely off the outlet from the tank. No way it had been installed properly...I had to run it outside and drain it into a bucket, clean it up and then take it apart and reconnect it the right way. An hour of my life and a wasted gallon of gas I will never get back. Still like the thing, but have to say this would never be an issue with a Honda or Yamaha. If I encounter another problem of any kind I will return it and buy something else. Update 8/14/16 - Went to their website today to register my generator. According to them, the serial number I entered was incorrect. I triple checked it and tried entering it again and it is accurate. Sooo, I called the telephone number that they provided (888-9ACTIVATE) in case I needed assistance and it says it is not a working number! Tried 3 times since yesterday and same message. I will try again tomorrow as it is outside of business hours now. I am continually unimpressed, however I like the unit but am afraid that I am going to wind up regretting my buying decision, I hope not. At this point I had already taken it to a mechanic and was waiting for a diagnoses and told Kathie Behrens we would wait until I found out what was wrong. It came back as a weak compressor in the engine and we should just get it replaced because we would more than likely be dealing with an engine issue for the life of the generator. Customer Service, what customer service
This worked for about 2 months and then stopped holding a load. I contacted Generac via email and got a response 1 week later telling me they would replace. I contacted Kathie again and gave her all the pertinent info for the replacement. Well that was a month and a half ago, and I haven't heard a thing. My first email reporting the problem was on August 14th. Response on August 21st. I responded back on September 2nd asking for the replacement and again on the 29th. It is now October 17th and still no response. I feel I have been really patient. If this is the customer service you should expect, I cannot recommend this product.
