My wife told me that I really abuse my shredder without paying over time... so that's why I got this shredder oil! This is a must have if you have a shredder that you use often and would like to keep it in shape for long time... *** TIPS *** ✔️ If your shredder has a Reverse mode then put the oil across the opening while running in reverse mode. Make sure your shredder basket is not empty by shredding few papers first so that oil is absorbed by the shredded paper rather than on the basket. ✔️ If your shredder does not have a Reverse mode, place several pieces of paper on the shredder then while holding the top of the paper, put the oil across the paper in the mid section then turn on the shredder. This will prevent oils from dripping down too fast. ✔️ Wrap the bottom of this oil bottle with aluminum foil (see picture) so that it will catch any oil drips and you don't have to hold and touch sticky oils on the bottle. I've owned plenty of shredders in my days, but cannot claim to have ever purchased oil for any of them. My current shredder (micro cut) had very detailed recommendations about oiling the blades, so I figured I'd go ahead and pick up some shredder oil. No instructions included, but use not brain surgery. But be CAREFUL not to cut a large amount of the tip off! The liquid is very thin and will gush out when bottle tipped. I got it all over the shredder and the carpet. My dog started licking it up so I had to see what is made of. Per a call to Fellowes - vegetable oil. Save yourself a bunch of money: put a little Canola oil on a paper towel, wipe a wide streak on sheet of paper and shred it. An inexpensive fill hose to make dispensing spill-proof.
This product needs an fill hose inside the top neck so that while lubricating the shredder cutting heads the oil doesn't spill all over the outside housing. With an inside fill hose you can maintain precise lubrication without having to invert the fill head over the cutting head opening, causing spillage. All you need do is squeeze the upright plastic container so the oil can be precisely dispensed. An inexpensive 5 cent option to make the dispensing of this product perform exactly as you want it. The manufacturer -FELLOWES - has stubbornly resisted my suggestion. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW FELLOWES ????

A good solution to making the shredder do the job and last long time. I like the nozzle on this thing as it lets me get the oil right in there to the blades without dripping it over the surrounding case. Oil would drip out the sides if I was not really careful. Not a big problem for me, but she would always find evidence of the drippage and give me feedback. If I am buying a relatively expensive shredder, it only makes sense to take care of it. This oil is the solution.
