abunda_amazon_reviews As a former Navy Scuba Diver, the ability to have a clear field fo view is one of the most important things when entering the water. I have always had issues using the traditional swim goggles which surround only the eye socket. It always left me with the feeling of my eyes being sucked out. And as most swimmers will tell you, if you're distracted you can't swim properly. Sh, short of using a full scuba mask, my options were limited. I found these and thought 'd give them a shot. Boy was I surprised of the difference these made. They seal just under the orbital socket and above the eyebrow which leaves me with a wide field of view and comfortable feeling. My wife who swam competitively most of her life became a convert one day when she left her traditional goggles at home. The next day, I had to order a set for her and we have been satisfied ever since.;;Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2018;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;They've re-invented the swim goggle. No luck. They always leak. Guess I have a very unusual face. Would be the first time I heard that rofl. Anyway, the seal on this mask is amazing. It absolutely does not leak. On the planet I live on, "clear" means "clear", not mirror-tinted and darkened.. That being said, these seem to be ok goggles. They look to be held on primarily via suction rather than by the strap, so expect to be adjusting them often to keep the suction in force. Also don't try to pull these off as it would like taking a plunger to your eyes (ouch!). They leak a little around my right eye, so I guess I will need to either keep adjusting it more or try to have a Robot Face when I use these as facial movements will weaken the suction faster. Of Interest is that the little slip of paper included with the goggles says (verbatim): "In very case, lengthy use of the goggles may cause uncomfortable. If this happen, you should stop using the goggles." No idea if that comes from the suction, the lenses, or both, but there it is. I will now try to locate a pair of CLEAR "clear" goggles and see how my luck goes. ....aha.. In the first picture the image of the left lens LOOKS like you are seeing through it (aka: clear) but in fact it is merely a reflection. The second picture also looks "clear", but this must be a trick of the light and similar background color. The third picture shows a different view where the lighting angle makes the left lens appear almost black. So if one (cough.. me.. cough) bothers to check ALL the pictures, it is obvious that these aren't "clear". My bad for not paying more attention before purchasing. UPDATE: Spoke with an Amazon rep, and I was issued full credit for the item (thanks!). It would appear that I don't even have to return the item, but keeping it would be asking for trouble. Sending the item back on Monday, and have ordered other goggles that do indeed have a CLEAR lens. Also read a bit more that makes me a little apprehensive, as seems depending on the "shape of one's face" the average swim-wear item may-or-may-not fit. Great for one person's type of face, not so for someone else. One person even said to Loosen The Straps so it leaks less. (?) Actually bought two items - a pair of goggles and one that is more like an undersized mask.
