Description

The Dyson pure hot cool link purifier heater has triple functionality. It purifies all year round, quickly heats the whole room in winter and keeps you cool as a fan in summer. As a purifier, it removes 99.97percent of allergens as small as 0.3 microns from your home. Its 360˚, vacuum-sealed glass HEPA filter also helps capture odors and harmful toxins. It purifies intelligently - automatically monitoring and reacting. It then reports to the Dyson link app so you can remotely control your environment. And whether heating or cooling, jet focus control lets you select personal mode for a powerful stream of focused air, or diffused mode for wide projection. The machine also features a sleep timer, night-time auto mode and an easy-to-clean aperture.

  • Attractive, intuitive, and very productive.
This is a super high quality purchase. In a field with multiple options, I decided to go with Dyson due to being impressed with their line of vacuum cleaners, of which I have had two over the years. I decided on the shorter, heater model (versus the taller, fan-only model) because I didn't want my hyperactive dog, or any future children, to easily knock it over and damage it. In the end, I think this was a good decision for me, because the heater setting is actually more handy than I imagined. I like using this unit as a small temperature stabilizer for my apartment, as well. The packaging was super easy to open and tear down, but protected this purifier very well. The instructions are very easy to follow, and the remote/phone app are straightforward and intuitive. The phone app works off the purifier's ability to connect to your home wifi network, which allows you to control the operations anywhere in the world, as long as your phone can connect to a network. (Some models do not include wifi capability, so if this is important, make sure you're buying the correct one.) There are two main settings - cool (fan) or hot (heater). The cool setting allows you to set an intensity (zero to ten, I think), and the hot setting allows you to set a temperature. If the ambient temperature reaches the set level, the unit throttles down to a low setting. The cool/fan setting isn't really "air conditioning," but the airflow does make the air somewhat cooler. There are some other options/settings including airflow direction (wide vs. narrow), oscillating, night mode (the display dims substantially), and "auto mode," which I haven't explored yet. The app has good features. You can also schedule the unit to operate during certain days, or times of the day. The app also logs data such as air quality, temperature, and humidity over days and weeks so you can compare this information to things like how bad your allergies are, if you had windows open, etc. And lastly, the app also has a total runtime for your filter so you know exactly when to replace it. In the end, the most important thing - air quality - has also improved. I am allergic to dogs, but I love my dog too much to put her up for adoption. My allergy had been increasing, triggering allergic asthma maybe 2 times per week during the night, waking me up in the process. The app shows me that on the first two days running this machine, my air quality was in the high red zone. Now, my air quality is consistently green / near the bottom of the range. My allergic asthma has all but disappeared, and I actually haven't been taking any allergy pills after a few days of running this unit. ... show more

  • Strong heater in winter and nice fan in summer
This is a typical high quality and expensive Dyson product. It has a great design, functions as both heater and fan very well, and has both a remote and a phone app to control it. Whether the air filter makes much of a difference in our kitchen is hard to say, but given the quality of Dyson engineering it probably works as advertised (and helps sales of replacement filters!). • High quality with a small footprint
We bought it for our bedroom, which is large and poorly insulated. I have read reviews complaining about the fan noise of this model, which I must admit mystifies me. Ours is in our bedroom and it is very quiet. My wife is a light sleeper and it doesn't bother her. She particularly likes the fact that the airflow can be directed in a stream or a wider area - she wants the airflow directed to my side of the bed, which suits me fine. We have a DeLonghi Penguino (also bought from Amazon) to both cool and warm my study. It works great but it is very loud in both modes - I have to turn off the unit when I am on the phone. The Dyson is smaller but isn't as powerful - but it is much quieter. The unit appears to be very well built but it is too soon to say whether it is durable. It requires a remote to operate all of the features of the fan / air purifier so don't lose it! You can put the remote on top of the unit due to the magnets but I prefer to keep it in the drawer. It is too soon to say whether the air purifier actually works after three days because we do not leave the unit on during the day - just at night. Night mode is great - it dims all of the lights so it won't keep you up at night. What a simple but brilliant idea. A note of caution regarding wifi connectivity - the reviews on the Google Play website for Android are scathing. Anyone that uses Android needs to check out the Google Play review of the Dyson app. It drops connections regularly and won't accept wifi passwords that are complex with special characters. I wouldn't pay more for wifi connectivity - my mistake. It is expensive but so far worth it. And my wife is happy - you can't put a price on that! ... show more

  • Nice fan, but rubbish smart functionality
Dyson air filter functionality is nice and works well. The "iot" or "smart" aspects are terrible and barely work as others have mentioned. If you sneeze close to it, or fart loudly, it will stop responding on your network and never be able to get back online again. Horrible horrible software Integration and app. Why they choose to use 802.11n only on 2.4ghz is part of the problem. I suspect they cheaped out on the Fong Lee SoC, and hence why it barely works. Again air cleaning and fan functionality seem to work well. I can verify its cleaning air as it says it does--but I believe them. Dyson makes great products-- it's just their "smart" functionality is rubbish. 3.5 stars... ... show more

  • Does not hold up to the Dyson gold standard- unhappy and disappointed
For the amount I spent I wanted to give it some time to review to see if this really does measure up I spent about. month researching which product to buy and reading reviews, this seemed like the golden item. I mean Dyson sets the standard for everything and I use the brand across the board for my home needs. This has been in my room almost a year, I've noticed no difference in the air quality, I still wake up puffy and stuffy ( I live in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills) and the Air quality here esp with the fires is not good - point being why I bought it. It took me a long time just to get it to sync, and when it did it rarely worked. The remote control is great because I dont have to get up but that does not warrant the price tag. It can get a bit loud at night- and it honestly does not keep me cool. The heat function is the only saving grace and it does heat up the room fast--but I would have bought a small $50 heater for that. This is suppose to be an all in one holy grail. I am sadly super disappointed and won't be recommending this to people on the market that want something intuitive, smart, and functional for there home. ... show more
