It fit perfectly and was easy to replace. It was also easy to see that Dyson make the electrical connectors too small for the amp load which is why they got overheated, burned, and caused the poor connection in the first place. Unfortunately, the OEM replacement is made exactly the same and is destined to suffer the same fate. Only thing you can do as a consumer is to keep the filters and the brushes clean because when they are not, the motor has to work harder which draws more current. ... show more

I am a woman with diy skills ordered this after the dog ate the cord on my dc28 vauccum. went to you tube and like in 10 minutes had the vacuum disassembled replaced the part and back together okay Maybe it was 40 minutes but the point is it was really easy and my vacuum works again

Fits. Powers the vacuum. However, the cord is VERY rigid. Nothing like a normal appliance power cord. Even after weeks of use, it hasn't softened up. Kinks stay forever, and you couldn't make it look "straight" to save your life.
