abunda_amazon_reviews The drone came perfect. I bought a certified refurbished, and im feeling good with the product.;;Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2018;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Ir came good and with original box;;Jean Sebastian;;;I have been looking at a "real" drone for a couple years. I have flown several different ones, from the micro drones indoor, to the larger syma outside. So I thought I was ready to move up to a good one. After comparing many drones from many Manufacturers I decided on this one, because 4K video is important to me, and a refurbished one is a more reasonable price. If you get this, take you time, go thru the calibrations, try the flight simulator, and make sure you are comfortable with the basics of drone flight (if not, pick up a cheap on and fly it for awhile before starting with this one.) So, I charge up the battery and controller, update the firmware via the app (you will need to switch between the wifi connection on the drone, and your local wifi that has internet to go thru this process), calibrate everything and say, why not take it for a test run?. Took it outside (at Dusk no less), and fired it up, did some basics (minor movement, then landing a few times), all of this in beginner mode (I HIGHLY recommend this the first time you fly it) Flew nicely, no issues, UNTIL on the 2nd time up to max height (30M in beginner mode) it started to drift in the wrong direction. It got about 5 houses away and I thought lets see how return to home works. Pushed the button, and am happy to say it stopped drifting, and flew back in my direction where I was able to land it normally. PROS: Reasonable price for a 4K video drone, VERY nice footage that was rock solid, I mean like NO drift in the video, it was rock solid! With some previous knowledge on flying drones, this was fairly easy to adapt to, Battery life seems ok (with 1st flight), controller was decent (the controls are solid and responsive). By far, the best part of this unit is a damn good 4K camera, I am looking forward to trying more daytime footage but for dusk this camera was as good as my 4K sony camcorder, and that is saying something!. CONS: Got to point these out as well! #1. This is listed with a 16GB MicroSD card included, Mine had a lame 8GB card that was not even U1 rated (if you shoot 4K you know this is bad). SO, if you plan on good 4K with this, make sure you get a U3 4K rated MicroSD card that is at least 64GB (if not 128 or 256). THIS is why I deducted a star. It pisses me off when you get something and find it NOT as advertised! #2. Plan on a 2nd Battery, and possibly a 2nd charger and charging bay (not really a con, but if you don't have these, you get a MAX of 25 min, and then must recharge battery to fly again (a few hours) #3. I did not expect a drone this good to drift after taking off, There did not appear to be a trim setting available to give you a nice stable hover (constant adjustment required for stable, level flight, I admit, I have only done the first flight, but I expected an easier way to adj. this) #4. Drifting away from me (and loosing GPS lock according to app) bothered me, but, the Return to Home worked as expected, so more of an FYI then a Con. #5. I am a tech guru, I can fix/figure out almost anything. There are several things that are NOT intuitive at all. The App?, had to go thru it 4 times to figure out how to select my drone, connect to it, and figure out the calibration. Your Phone basically must connect to the drone via wifi, BUT everytime it does, you lose connection to the internet (even with 3G). So, you must keep switching back and forth on your phones WiFi to connect to drone, then disconnect, then connect to local wifi (for internet), then back, then forth, then back....... unnecessarily painful. #6. Some of the basics necessary for setup are not as straightforward as you might think. The Props are apparently color coded (2 black, 2 silver), you have stickers on the 4 rotor motors when you open it up that basically says choose the correct prop for this motor. You open the bag of props, and you have 3 of each (2 for drone, and 1 spare), the props have small shrinkwrapped plastic over the holes. you must cut the plastic off, peel it, and then firmly press the props onto the motors. I found NOTHING to show you that this was necessary, or how to do it. At first you think that the props are not on and will fall off, so push them twice and you should feel a click as they get connected. I had no issues with the drone once flying, BUT it made me a little nervous that you feel a prop could fall off mid flight! Overall: Good value for the money, put the time into flying a cheapie beforehand, get a good MicroSD card rated for 4K video!, Read and reread everything, calibrate, update FW if app says you should. Look at youtube videos on setup, Look at other Phantom forums, and ask questions!. I researched drones for over a year before buying this one. I will update this If anything changes. Also, understand the FAA rules before you fly, they are important!;;Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2017;;4.0 out of 5 stars;;Reasonable for the Money!;;Pat N.;;;Excellent drone for the price and it's 4K!!!!
