HORRIBLE PRODUCT, HORRIBLE SELLER CUSTOMER SERVICE
Off the bat, this product was amazing, for the time that it actually worked the way it was supposed too. I ordered this drone specifically for a trip that I made to Iceland. I ordered it a couple of weeks before in order to use it and learn how to thoroughly use it. Right out of the box, I had troubles calibrating the unit. The remote would not connect via the DJI App. Finally after about 4 hrs of tinkering and moving to different locations around my neighborhood, I was able to get it to take flight. I flew it a handful of times before it started losing connection to the RC remote. I thought I could make it work so i took it on my trip. First time I used it, had the same issue. Losing connection, videos not being saved, could not control enough to get some good flight time. Decided to not use it unless I really thought it was necessary to get some footage of my trip. Used it once more and this time it completely lost connection, wind made it drop to the ground. Now I know this was not user error since the unit was about 400 ft away from the remote and the range on this is supposed to be close to 2 miles. Came back home, set up a return. Amazon gives me an RMA and I proceed to send the unit back. I email FlySafe CR, the company this was sold through, to get an update on my refund. They proceed to give me a refund for half of the units cost claiming that the unit was sent back to them damage, with a missing camera, broken blades and more damage. I understood the warranty policy stated that they have the right to refund up to 50% of the units cost if they deem the product damaged by user error or accidental damage. BUT THIS WAS IN NO WAY USER ERROR. THE DRONE HAD ISSUES OUT OF THE BOX. ON TOP OF THAT, THEIR CLAIMS WERE FALSE. I returned the unit in perfect condition. After the drone landed sideways I verified that it still worked. Controller still worked, camera was still functioning, no parts were broken and there were absolutely no scratches on the unit either. I work in a warranty dept, so I know how the process works. I asked this company for documentation on their findings or some sort of logs off of the black box they state these drones have. They refused to give me said documentation, no pictures no logs, nothing. Going to take this up with amazon and update review if there is anything to add on this scumbag of a company that like to cheat people out of their product.

Know what you are getting
First off the drone came with all the necessary accessories. Everything sealed, stickered, taped. The drone itself had zero signs of use. Upon inspection, there was something rolling around in the upper housing of the body behind the battery compartment. That part is hollow but I didn't want to risk a short if it was a screw. Popped of the white diffuser for the tail LED lights and a ball of solder fell out about 1-0.5mm in size...that could have been bad. If you check out the online forums, chances are you will not be able to register your drone for DJI Care Refresh out of the box, don't bother calling and waiting on hold, they can't help you either. EMAIL djicare with your order number and SN for the drone and they will reset the SN for you in an hour or so. Wish they made this information more widly known. This drone is a phenominal piece of hardware, watch tutorials, read online suggestions, practice in beginner mode. It has so much capabilities, but it'll take time to learn them, like anything else. Other than the ball of solder and being bounced around customer service, I have no other complaints!

A MUST HAVE FOR ANY DRONE PILOT
First off, if you are new to getting into drones, do not be intimidated by this platform. It takes little to no prior flying experience to flying the DJI Mavic, and after a few flights you'll be cruising and getting amazing footage. The safety features on the Mavic make it very difficult to crash and the software is incredibly easy to use. Also, even though this is a refurbished Mavic, when I got mine, I couldn't even tell it was not new. Still to this day cannot see how this drone wasn't brand new. Here's a breakdown of my favorite features: 1. Stability The Mavic is extremely stable and exceeded my expectations even in high wind. During gusts of wind you can see the Mavic move positions slightly, but never anything drastic. The simultaneous use of multiple satellite connections and the optical system on the bottom of the Mavic help it maintain its position with amazing accuracy. 2. Safety Flying near trees, buildings or other obstacles? Not a huge problem for the Mavic. The two sensors on the front of the Mavic do an excellent job at stopping the drone right before it crashes into anything. Take note though... it only senses objects from the front and the bottom, so if you are flying backwards or sideways, it will not stop itself from crashing. So always know your surroundings. 3. Portability. Probably one of my favorite things about this drone and a large reason for its popularity. When foulded up, the drone is small enough to be tucked inside a large cargo pocket, backpack, or other container. It makes it ideal for hiking and traveling. When hiking I just throw mine in a small backpack and I'm on my way! The only thing I wish they would have incorporated is some sort of device to secure the propellers. The propellers will always be exposed even when folded so breaking them can be easy if not careful. 4. Camera The quality of this small camera is well above average. The 4K quality is crystal clear and stability of the gimbal system will leave you in awe. I have filmed in high wind where I could see the drone fighting with the wind, but when reviewing the footage, you can't even tell it was windy. The gimbal pitch is easily controlled and the direction of the camera is manipulated by changing the yaw (left and right spin). I have filmed many videos from the Mavic and every time they come out amazing. I would suggest buying some ND filters if you seek cinema-quality footage. It also takes amazing pictures too! 5. Battery The battery lasts a very long time and for me, when flying time seems to slow down so you actually feel like you are flying forever on each battery. The battery lasts for around 25 minutes from average use. Obviously when you kick the thing into sport mode (awesome by the way) it drains the battery faster. The charging takes little to no time and the transmitter can be used for multiple flights without charging. The constant display of the battery level on the transmitter makes it a breeze to know the % of your battery and know how much to push its limits. Once the battery drops below a certain % it triggers the return to home feature, and if it drops below critical, it lands wherever it is (sucks if you're over water, but better than just dropping out of the sky and hurting someone). 6. DJI Go DJI Go is the free mobile software you want to download to help control the drone. You just plug your device into the transmitter and you get live feed of what your drone is seeing as well as telemetry data. The app is super easy to use and gives you the ability to use DJI's many intelligent flight modes. DJI Go additionally offers video editing interfaces RIGHT IN THE APP!! A great drone needs great software and DJI really did it with DJI Go Now for the cons (not that many actually) 1. Need more obstacle avoidance. With only sensors in the front and bottom, the drone is vulnerable to impact if flying backwards or sideways. 2. Need built in propeller protector. When folded up, the propellers are left exposed and propellers are not something you want to try and fly with when damaged. The slightest chip can throw off the balance of a drone and lead to decreased performance. Other than those two things, I'm very pleased with the Mavic. It's ease of use and exceptional quality makes it a must have for anyone just getting into drone flying all the way to more experienced pilots.

DJI Care Refresh issues? No worries!
The UAS works flawlessly, with no scratches or dings or missing pieces. I had an issue with purchasing DJI Care Refresh for my refurbished Mavic Pro after delivery. A quick email to DJI Support through their webform allowed me to attach screen shots of my purchase and delivery date. Within 24 hours the issue had been fully resolved. Ideally there wouldn't be any issues that require customer time, but for an extra 5 minutes of my time I was able to save $200 over purchasing a brand new Mavic Pro. The savings pay for the DJI Care Refresh and leaves $100 on the table to purchase the "Platinum" blades and an extra battery or other accessories.
