This Cosori dehydrator is one of the best purchases I have made for saving my summer herbs and garden food. The temperature and timer controls have a low enough range for the most delicate herb and high enough for meats and jerky. One of our favorites (and most often used) is the "instant refried beans". Oh what a time saver that has been. It is quiet enough to be in a family area without negatively impacting the conversation. We have forgotten it a few times until the timer went off. The exterior stays slightly warm but not hot. There are only a couple of liquid items that we have found worked better if we rotated the trays. The vast majority of the time it is not necessary which is real plus compared to our old stackable unit. I had heard and read several reviews prior to purchasing. I did a great deal of research because this is a big expense on a smaller budget. Of all of the dehydrators I looked at, this one was the most versatile for the money. While I would have loved the larger one, I have been pleasantly surprised at how much will fit into the six tray unit. It stays in use year round here and seems to have that staying power. This is a nice little machine. It's all stainless steel as well as the racks that are plastic in many other units. Made my first batch batch of jerky a couple of days ago, 3.5lbs of bottom round, and it came out perfect. The racks are especially nice with both rods and mesh body that cleans easily. Very nice product. I would recommend placing it on a surface that can handle heat or place a piece of cork underneath it when running it. I chose to put it on a painted cabinet in my basement and I was concerned the heat would cause the pain to peel so I placed a piece of cork underneath it, (~1/4 thick) and it protected my cabinet well. If you have a proper counter top I would recommend placing it there. ... show more

I absolutely LOVE this Dehydrator. Here is why: 1. SUPER easy to use 2. Very easy to clean 3. It's very quiet, you forget it's even on 4. The heat is distributed evenly as the fruit comes out ON POINT every time. I have made banana chips, apples, mandaries, oranges, persimmons, quince, zuchinni and brown sugar bacon. I would go to Trader Joes, buy their dry fruit and get my ideas from them ha! I like having my own dehydrator, this way I can opt out of adding extra sugar on the dried fruit. My husband is such a fan now, he will take out the Dehydrator on the weekend to make his apple chips. It's worth every penny!!! You will not regret buying it. ... show more

Wanted mainly for making jerky and/or snacks for Ketovore/Carnivore meal planning. There is a learning curve to making jerky for sure, but you can make your own without any unwanted ingredients. Make your own marinade or just salt your meat, works. Beef stir fry strips make excellent jerky, tastes great, and less time (3-4 hours). Stainless steel trays are a big plus, easy to clean. Place the fruit roll tray in the bottom to catch any fat or moisture drippings. This dehydrator solidly built, great for limited space, not heavy, easy to lift/move around. Cosori has excellent customer service should you ever have a question or issue. They are designed in California and made in China; however, this is one brand that I would not hesitate to purchase and use. Have purchased/use two different models of their Air Fryers. Wasn't sure if it was the real deal. You just never know. So far, we have been using it nonstop. We put in Apples, Pears, grapes, mangos, strawberries, kiwi, banannas, etc. Everything has come out great. It is easy to use and quiet. It is large but we have a lot of room in our laundry/mud room. So it runs in there. Would highly recommend this brand and product. We are really happy we went with the large one. The more racks the better. When you slice up things and spread them out, you need the racks. It is a win on everything so far. Our fingers are crossed that it lasts a really long time! ... show more
