  • Works extremely well for a very, very, very difficult sleeper
Color: Cpapmax Pillow
I have myriad issues that interfere with sleep: cervical/neck problems that require a lot of neck support; jaw clenching/biting issues that require me to wear a dental appliance and to have the right counter-pressure on my jaw from a pillow; sinus problems that make it difficult to breathe unless I'm lying in the right position; Sensory Processing Disorder that causes me to be very sensitive to the softness/firmness of a pillow, to the pressure on my ears, and to the exact way my hair is pressed into my skin by the pillow; Restless Leg Syndrome that causes me to thrash and change positions frequently during the night; and Sleep Apnea, just to cap it all off. After trying dozens of pillows over the years, I had finally found one that mostly worked for me, so I was very frustrated to find that it didn't work with the CPAP masks that I finally gave up and tried for the Sleep Apnea. Thus, I began once again searching for a pillow I could tolerate. That was a tall order, and I can't say I honestly expected to have much luck. Still, I read about dozens of CPAP pillows and finally chose this one over the others, for two reasons: 1) Some of the reviews mentioned it provided good neck support, and 2) its height is adjustable, which I've found to be a key feature with other pillows. I crossed my fingers, ordered it, was annoyed when it came a day late and off-gassed more strongly than I would have preferred, and then found it to be FAR better than I expected. This pillow is actually more comfortable than my previous one, which as I said was the culmination of a multi-year search of dozens of options. With this pillow, I'm able to sleep on either side and/or my back as needed throughout the night. It supports my neck perfectly in all of my favorite positions, providing exactly the right amount of counter-pressure where I need it, without putting too much pressure on the overly-sensitive areas. It hits my jaw just right, reducing issues from that. I use the soft side up, which makes it soft enough not to irritate my ears. And with it, I barely notice the CPAP straps, despite the Sensory Processing Disorder. I actually wake up feeling (dare I say it) rested, and without a headache, and without my neck hurting, and without my jaw clenched and miserable. This is by far my new favorite pillow, and my only remaining question is how many should I buy to make sure I have a spare in case the company stops making them or something? Seriously, if you have cervical/neck issues, and/or Sensory Processing Disorder, and/or jaw problems, and/or shoulder problems, and/or chronic headaches, and/or whatever else, I strongly recommend this pillow. May it work as well for you as it does for me! ... show more

  • Buy this pillow! Finally an Aerophagia Cure!! Adjustable layers!
Color: Cpapmax Pillow
Update after a couple of months of use. Still working wonderfully! Since starting CPAP I have had months of waking up with severe Aerophagia (air belly) I was ready to quit using my machine. No longer! I have asked everyone, Dr, Respiratory Therapist and all of the CPAP forums what I could do. Since I am a back sleeper they all said basically live with it but try ... ‘Don’t sleep on your back, use tennis balls sewn into your pjs, wear a chin strap, exercise your neck.’ I even wrapped a fire log in a towel and placed it behind my back to keep me on my side! I had been looking at CPAP pillows to help with increasing mask comfort, never thinking it would help with swallowing air, but they are pricey so did without until now. This pillow has a slight indentation for your head, slopes up slightly and has a neck cut out. It must all work together to keep air from being blown into your lungs. I have waited a week to post my review to make sure it wasn’t temporary. I will be posting about the Contour Pillow in all the forums. Not only does it increase mask comfort and stop air leaks, it cures Aerophagia!! FYI I took out one of the pillow layers before using since I am petite. Another excellent feature of this pillow is it’s adjustability. ... show more

  • If you are struggling with your CPAP mask, read this review.
Color: Cpapmax Pillow
I am a new CPAP user and quickly realized the necessity of having a pillow that works with you to achieve the best experience with your mask. I am one picky guy and this pillow is a home run! I used all three layers on the first night and it was perfect for me. On my back it cradled my neck and head perfectly. The real surprise came when sleeping on my side. This pillow supports both your chin and forehead yet puts no pressure on the mask...exactly what is needed. While the details are not important for this review, my mask fit and AHI number were surprisingly works! ... show more

  • This is the pillow for me!
Color: Cpapmax Pillow
I have spent money on all kinds of pillows include memory foam, orthopedic, doubling pillows and even My Pillow. They all left me achy with a sore neck or back and once I started using my cpap, I would end up entangled in the hose or it pulling off. The CPAPMax is fantastic. I’ve had it for a week now and I only need to use this pillow. My neck doesn’t hurt, it’s elevated where my shoulders fit neatly and it cradles my neck when I’m on my side. I especially love the hose strap that secured the cpap hose so I’m not tangled up and blue. It’s well worth the money and I might consider buying one for travel. I hate to not have this pillow. ... show more

  • Gave me hope that compliance was possible
Color: Cpapmax Pillow
To best appreciate this pillow you need to struggle without it for 2 months while you try and acclimate to a full face mask. After an exasperating 2 months of frustration trying to use the mask with a conventional pillow I took to the CPAP pillow the first night. Eliminates 80% of the seal issues with my mask. So there is at least an 80% reduction in wake up frequency due to air leaks. Then the few times air leaks do disturb me it only takes a slight repositioning to correct the issue, rather than a major trial and error repositioning episode which fully wakes me up and makes me angry. The nightly dance of struggling with the mask, the straps and fluffy pillows are over! This is a firm pillow. I like soft and fluffy. Well soft and fluffy can’t work with CPAP so I had to change. Easy transition since I was determined to make it work. While it’s not perfect it’s light years ahead of a conventional soft pillow. Without it there was no way I was going to achieve the 60% compliance rate that BCBS demands or they withdraw financial support. I am a side sleeper using a ResMed AirTouch F 20 full face mask. There was some minor new memory foam odor for a few days then it dissipated. I threw a queen sized pillow case on it to keep it cleaner longer. The pillow case does not interfere with function. I did not remove any of the foam inserts. I found the shipped height of the pillow perfect for me as is. ... show more
