abunda_amazon_reviews As a huge ginger chew fan, I wanted to compare Chimes and Gin-Gins for anyone who may be curious and trying to decide between the two. Size: Individual Gin-Gins are a little larger than Chimes. Texture: Chimes are slightly less chewy than Gin-Gins. They don't stick to your teeth quite as much and are easier to get out of the wrapper. All in all, the two candies are pretty similar in texture - a chewy ginger candy dusted with something like powdered sugar. Ingredients: Identical - ginger, cane sugar, and tapioca starch. Taste: This is the important one. Chimes are much milder and sweeter than Gin-Gins, which have some spicy ginger heat. If you prefer a subtle, gentle candy, go with Chimes. If you're looking for a stronger, sweet-hot ginger flavor, go with Gin-Gins. Families would probably find Chimes far more suited for sharing with younger children. Personally, I prefer the more intense ginger flavor of Gin-Gins.;;Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2014;;4.0 out of 5 stars;;Comparing Chimes and Gin-Gins;;Cinnamon Owl;;;You may already know that one of the benefits of ginger is that it's good for nausea. I first found out about these delicious, little chews from one of the staff members at the cancer treatment center where my husband goes. She was kind enough to give me a bunch when we were there recently. She told me one of her co-workers ordered them from Amazon. Shortly thereafter, I was feeling really sick to my stomach one morning, so I popped one into my mouth. By the short period of time (maybe a couple of minutes) that it took for it to melt, my nausea was completely gone!!! So, I went on Amazon and ordered the one-pound box just like the ones that had been shared with me. I have to warn you, though, that they are quite chewy, so for me personally, I like to just pop one in my mouth and let it melt. If I do chew it, it's only a little. Also, initially, the strong ginger flavor is a little too intense for me, but after I make it through the first one whenever I start to eat them, the taste is not too strong. They also have some with mango flavor. I told my daughter about them because she loves mangoes. I was hoping she'd order some so I could try them. She did, and they are also delicious! The mango flavor is intense in a very flavorful way which (in my opinion) balances out the strong ginger taste. I actually like them better than the regular ginger flavor. Make sure you read the reviews before ordering because there is a bag that has assorted flavors, and some people were not fond of some of them. The bag I ordered is the originals that only have the ginger flavor. However, as I mentioned, the mango flavor ones are also tasty.;;Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2018;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;A Benefit Of Ginger;;Maxine Billings;;;This is a great item ... especially for those who have sensitive tummies. I buy them by 5 pound boxes for my 86 year old mom (who thinks Amazon is a magical place where things appear at her door), and then when my aunts (by plural, I mean all 5 of them) found out about this little trick with ginger chews....yep, you guessed it, I received 5 phone calls from 80+ year old aunts wanting to know how they could get their hands on this product from the magical place called Amazon. So now they are all on my recurring orders. So yep! Product works great! I always purchase these from Black Tie Mercantile. I’ve had this type/brand before and I do remember them being difficult to get out of the wrapper as they were stuck to the stuck a bit. I’m glad to report that each piece of candy (the 4 I ate lol) is not even sticking in the least bit. The flavor is absolutely delicious as well as very strong ginger taste. They are very very fresh. The best part about these is that there is only three ingredients listed, cane sugar, ginger and tapioca starch (in that order). This will definitely be my go to ginger fix LOL.;;Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2020;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Lovin’ Them!!;;Justaconsumer;;;At first I was a little shocked by how spicy they were at the end but than I learned to love them. These candies are highly addicting and very chewy. We originally picked them up for my house to help us loose weight but only one of us noticed a difference. My mom managed to cut down her snacking while I just ate a lot of candy. Eventually if you eat too many you will run out of stuff to drink or your jaw will hurt from all the chewing. I wanted to try these because it seemed like a lot would be in one pound and I needed a lot for my tummy. They actually have a decent amount, looks like it could be 100 pieces or so. I've tried ginger chews in the past (Prince of Peace) and they've been nice, these taste the same. I like how they haven't stuck to the wrapper, so far! I use ginger chews for nausea. Gin Gin brand is much more effective for helping my nausea. However, due to blood sugar issues, if I have to have a lot of Ginger chews on a particular day due to exceptionally bad nausea, I tend to use Chimes, due to their smaller size.;;Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2020;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Good for nausea....not ginger strong ginger flavor as I would like.;;GloriaJoy;;;My husband and his dad eat these everyday to help out with the nausea they have from medicine they take.
