abunda_amazon_reviews After reviewing a number of generators, I chose this one. It runs as quiet as the Honda at half the cost. It has enough power to run my 30 foot travel trailer including the AC (13,500 BTU). With some instruction from Champion's tech's, I was able to connect the generator directly to the trailer's propane system. I have included a short video clip and pictures. I put a 12 foot hose between the regulator and the flow valve. I put a quick connect on the trailer and on the original regulator. This enables me to run the generator on gasoline, propane bottle and the trailer's propane system. The generator is light enough for me to lift it into the bed of my truck and it fits under the tonneau cover! These features make this generator the perfect camping generator. I do not have to carry extra fuel! The trailer's propane system has two 20lb propane bottles. That is enough propane to run for a 3 day weekend in economy mode running only during the campground's generator hours. My wife was very happy that we now can get the large unpowered camp sites most state parks offer without loosing any of the functions of the trailer. This generator is also powerful enough to use as a back-up generator for my house. I have installed a 30 amp RV plug next to the sub panel in my garage. In an extended power outage, I will open the main breaker then be able to safely plug it into the house to back feed power to the furnace some lights and the refrigerator. This is a great addition to my house & camping equipment.;;Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2018;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Perfect camping generator powerful and quiet!;;peteski;;;I live in Houston and as hurricane season approaches I started researching emergency generators. Consumer Reports recommends inverter generators, plus the more I read about propane, the more I liked it. Like many, I was attracted to the Hondas, but there was a recall on some and others do not accept propane. I REALLY wanted a propane option to avoid messing with old gasoline, stabilizers, gummed-up carburetors and fumes. Propane's energy output is 10% lower than gasoline, but I'm willing to take the hit for a clean engine. Eventually I discovered the Champion 3400 Dual Fuel Inverter Generator with Electric Start at half the price of a comparable Honda. Amazon delivered this bad boy in five days and it comes ready to rock and roll with minimal setup. You connect the (included) battery, add 20 ounces of oil for the initial five hour break in and it's good to go. I found small 20 ounce bottles of 10-30 weight oil at Home Depot, eliminating leftovers or over- or under-filling the reservoir. ACCESSORIES: The Champion 3400 dual fuel is a feature-rich machine, but I added a few goodies. For some reason almost no generator sports an hour meter. I found the Docooler® Inductive Hour Meter on Amazon for under ten bucks. It's a snap to install with no cutting. I replaced the standard dipstick with an nicely-machined aluminum dipstick tipped with a powerful magnet for keeping the oil free of metallic shards. I don't own an RV, so I can't use the RV outlet on the Champion 3400. Yet half the generator's power diverts to this socket. I picked up the rugged five dollar Camco PowerGrip Durable Electrical Adapter that even matches the yellow color scheme. I ran a 12 amp, 1440 watt electric lawnmower off it for 30 minutes and it didn't even get warm (I checked). An alternative suggestion is the Epicord RV Y Cable Adapter that feeds two 15 amp standard outlets from the RV outlet. Sweet! The Champion Weather-Resistant Storage Cover is kinda "meh." It's fine for a stationary machine, but much too flimsy for road warriors, work sites or campers. A tarp offers superior protection. FIRST EXPERIENCE: After adding oil and connecting the propane tank I followed the simple instructions for the electric start. The generator wouldn't quite catch--I figure the battery might be a bit sluggish from storage. I used the manual pull rope and the generator fired up. DOWNSIDES: The battery must be kept charged if you use gasoline--the pull rope will NOT work if the battery is low! If you only use your generator for emergencies the battery should be kept on a trickle charger. I keep an inexpensive Black & Decker charger connected to mine. The built-in folding handle and wheels allow easy transport of this near 100-pound machine on smooth surfaces. I wish it offered a bit more ground clearance for rough surfaces, however; the bottom drags when tall guys (I'm 6-foot) lift the handle too high. NOISE: I was surprised at the quiet purr of the Champion 3400 Dual Fuel. Seriously, you can hold a normal conversation standing six feet from the running generator! I placed it about 40 feet from the house and I could barely hear it with the door closed. POWER: This thing runs like a (excuse the pun) champ. During the five hour break in period, I connected my refrigerator (7 amps, 840 watts) and ran the generator on the economy setting for hours. It easily powered my 12 amp, 1440 watt electric lawnmower through the RV adapter plug when I mowed the lawn. My 1000 watt microwave worked fine. I changed the oil after the five hour break in period. Champion improved this model so you can now drain the oil through a flexible tube instead of out the bottom. You still need to tilt the body to get the last few drops, though. The Champion 3400 Dual Fuel Inverter generator is precisely what I was looking for. I have little experience with generators or motors, but Champion put some real thought into making their quiet, powerful generator user-friendly. Five stars!;;Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2019;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Quiet. Powerful. User-friendly. Suggested accessories.;;hotdog12;;;I needed a 3000w inverter and really had my mind set on one of the Honda models. In my opinion you can't go wrong with a honda they make an excellent product. The problem is the price. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for but I just really didn't wanna spend 1800 to 2200 on a generator that will maybe get used 50 hours a year. So I did a ton of research online and found champion,Briggs and generac. They all have pretty solid reviews and seem to be be the more reliable brands out of all the China made generators. Long story short the duel fuel option right of the box had me sold. This is just an awesome feature. This generator started right up on propane and gas runs smooth and quiet. In my opinion just as quiet as the Honda 2000 if it's not its very close. Starts my 13500 btu ac after I installed a Hard Start Capacitor. It will put out all 3100 watts on gasoline which is what it's rated for. It's kinda heavy but I knew it would be. I don't love the wheels on the unit I think they should of been a lil bigger and make unit sit up higher off the ground. That is my only complaint tho. Electric Start works great its easy to pull over also. This unit is perfect for me and my family will run our whole rv pretty much just have to pay attention to what's all running at once. Very happy with it so far.;;Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2016;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Really wanted a honda;;Amazon Customer;;;Awesome inverter! Surprisingly quiet. Powers my 13.5K Rooftop AC on my RV with no problem. So far I have only run it on Propane. It arrived with a broken lid to the battery compartment. I contacted the seller (ACME) and no response, then I contacted Champion and they immediately sent a replacement panel and complimentary generator cover for my troubles! Now that is customer service :-) Will not order anything else from ACME. **Update** I just finished the 5hr break in period and added synthetic 5W30. The oil change was incredibly easy, took all of 5 minutes. The drain plug has a hose already attached to it so All you do is un-clamp the hose which is inserted into a metal plug, extend it and drain! When done just insert the hose back into the plug, clamp, close the side panel and done! AWESOME!! It is details like this that make it a pleasure to use and maintain. Update 7/5/2020 The Generator has been excellent, until our recent long 3 week RV trip across the country. The generator still runs but the electric start has failed. This is a great addition to my house & camping equipment.

Quiet. Powerful. User-friendly. Suggested accessories.
I live in Houston and as hurricane season approaches I started researching emergency generators. Five stars!

Really wanted a honda
I needed a 3000w inverter and really had my mind set on one of the Honda models. Very happy with it so far.

Awesome inverter! Surprisingly quiet
Awesome inverter! It will still start and run if pull started. I have a call into Champion support. It currently has 120 hrs. on the meter. Semper Fi
