  • No regrets!
Sharpest looking foamy out in the water. Will catch tons of waves. Big, floaty and fun!

  • I surf
This may be a premature rating. I have surfed for over 50 years, and my biggest waves may have reached the 20 ft mark. In earlier days (late 70's and early 80's) when I surfed Santa Cruz, there was a group of dudes that got into the Morey Doyle. I bought 8 foot to try out. I had a blast. I had a lot of guys asking to try it out and I don't remember anyone saying they hated it. After a few seasons it was so water logged I tossed it. I was hoping for the same type of board with this...and it's not! It does have the slick bottom which I think is an improvement. It's really thick! It does have a mild rocker, and to call it a flat bottom would be an injustice. I don't care for the fins at all, the set up or leash design. I hope the tail doesn't get water logged. Also, the fins are double foiled, and all 3 are the same (interchangeable). This may be one reason the board was reported in some reviews to be a little unresponsive. The rails on top are thick and turned down to a strange chine rail off the bottom. I wanted a soft board to try it without wax, but I see the top is way too hard to attempt an unwaxed session. AND for the PREMATURE rating, I have not been in the water yet. I am 6'2" and I usually ride something between the 7'2" to 7;6" on bigger days, and an old 9'6" on smaller days. On days where there is still a small wave in the 2 to 3 ft range but a soft face where I feel like a windmill trying to take off, I'm looking for a fun session with this board. So far I feel good about the price and I just put a thin coat of Sticky Bumps on, waiting for the right time to try it out. It did come damaged with a ding on the side. The box was torn in several places. Who ever ships this should consider some bubble wrap. I'm trying to find out if I can use aqua seal for the repair. 4/6/2017 Do Not Buy This. I've read other reviews and I am amazed that people say they like board. There's a minimal rocker, the fins are way too short for any maneuverability, and the rails are way too thick. Will it catch a wave? Yes! But, good luck trying to turn. If there's any chop it's like riding a bucking horse. Any wave 2 feet or larger will end up in total disappointment...hard to control. For kids in white water or to carry it on top of a car to try to be cool - it will barely pass. The colors are attractive but it's a waste of money and I'm sorry I bought it. A word to the wise...Go to your local surf shop and buy a foamy from them. I admit the robin egg blue, or the bright yellow, or even the neon green may not look cool, but you will more than meet you needs with those compared to this waste of money. ... show more

  • This board is by far the better board. It could be due to the size
Bought this board along with another slightly shorter foam board to learn on. This board is by far the better board. It could be due to the size, but everyone that has tried surfing for the first time on my 2 boards have been able to get up on this board and not the 8'6 board...Not going to lie, it's like a boat! It's a good board to learn on and gain concordance on and it looks way better than the blue stripped boards :) ... show more

  • Super Fun
Delivered at specified date and time. Surfboard is super buoyant and my kids have thrived learning on this board. We've had many great days catching waves on the 9 footer. And that's what it does best... Catches everything from mid size to white wash. For the price you can't beat this as a beginner/ mid level board. super fun to have on the beach. It is what it is....a great floatie board. ... show more

  • The real deal
This board works great for anyone at any level. It is so stable that catching waves is a breeze. It lasts much longer than other foam boards. The faux wood grain deck makes it look so great that I display it on the wall of my living room when not using it for lessons or for tons of fun myself.

the board is nice but it came with a fin screw to short to secure one of the fins so now i'm trying find a way to replace it without returning the whole board. it also took 10 days too long to arrive because of the manufacturer, even though i have amazon prime. i could deal with that but it looks like me and my son won't be in the water anytime soon until we find a way to secure that find. ... show more
