abunda_amazon_reviews I live in Puerto Rico🇵🇷 this generator is Powerfull, easy to use and transport, silent compare to other generators near to my house. The fuel economy is great. right now is my source of energy after the passage of hurricane Maria.;;Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2017;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Great generator! For the price;;Juan R. Carazo;;;We are borrowing a friend's extremely quiet 47dB Honda 3000 invertor while staying in a 5th wheel while we start our house building. While waiting to get electricity to our lot, we decided to get our own generator. After reading MANY Amazon reviews on how quiet & easy it is, I decided that the Q6500 would be best & that we could use it on our new house in a power outage. However, what I've since learned is that the reviews are for ALL of their models, so the people talking about the quiet & ease of use probably were reviewing the 2000 models. This 6500 model does has a quieter mode, but it is still very loud. At 58 to 68-ish decibels, it is way too loud for me to tolerate. Also, I had a horrible time trying to get it started with the pull cord. I'm sure it is an amazing generator for the size, but I am returning it.;;Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2018;;3.0 out of 5 stars;;Light weight & easy to tow, but too loud for me;;Shopping Mom;;;Had a generator on my to do list. Well hurricane Irma elevated it to a buy one now status. The generator arrived on time and packaged well. I was about to cut into the box when I realized the box was in layers and you simply pulled the layers off and the generator was on the floor. No need to lift it out of the box. That was nice. For starters, it looks very high speed and comes with everything you need to run it but the gas. It comes with one quart of oil and you'll use all of it. The manual states in one section fill until full and in another area it has oil capacity is one quart. The generator started on the second pull and after a few seconds I put it into eco-mode and the engine stalled and died again and again. The next day I let it warm up before switching it to eco-mode and it ran like a champ. Everything I had in the garage ran just fine without effort from the generator. Read the manual bc there's information that you need to know. Like, the bottom USB plug is better for charging cellphones. However it doesn't say why. This generator delivers power as advertised and comes with a 24 month warranty through authorized dealers. And a quick B&S website searched revealed 15 with 45 mins of my house. Some negatives, its heavier than advertised especially when fueled and oil is added. And it is considerably louder than advertised. Think push mower loud with eco-off and small mower loud with eco on. And ladies, you'll most likely not be able to pull start the q6500. My wife and mother in law couldn't. All in all, it seems to do the job and at this price point you couldn't beat it. Would recommend would buy again. Update, we lost power for 4 days. At one point we had a fridge, a freezer and two floor ac units, lamps and a tv powered at one time. I was close to maxing it out and had to plug and power things in the right order. Zero regrets;;Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2017;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;I'm hurricane ready with reliable power.;;Amazon Customer;;;I bought the generator for a camping trip to Colorado. I bought it used, "Condition: Used - Like New - Item will come in original packaging. Packaging will be damaged" from Amazon warehouse deals. Put oil in generator when it arrived, and started and ran for about 15 minutes to make sure no problems. Generator started easily, was quiet, and I was pleased at the time. Left 3 days later from Oklahoma for camping trip to Colorado Rocky Mountains. First night there started generator, plugged in camper outlet and generator died after about a minute run time. Died three more times after starting within about 15 seconds. Then grabbed Briggs and Stratton (B&S) book which stated in high altitude generator requires high octane fuel with a "high altitude jet". I had added octane boost to the fuel already so figured it was the jet causing the problem. Drove out of Mountains next day and called (B&S) which stated nearest service center was in Denver, which was 2-1/2 hrs away with no time frame for installing the jet So, I spent the remainder of the vacation without a generator. When I got back home from Colorado, 2 weeks later, I started generator and it shut off ~15 sec after starting three separate times. Called the local service center (45 min away) and they stated it sounds like an emissions solenoid not working properly due to the high altitude. At this point, I was almost past the 30 day return window for returning the generator and didn't want to pay to repair a new generator, so I called Amazon for the return. The person I spoke with said it was no problem and stated I had 30 days to return the generator. I returned the generator within this time frame and Amazon charged me $228.75 or 78% of the purchase price of the generator. I would not recommend this generator or AMAZON for purchases such as this.
