  • One storm in
Have one storm use and have no complaints. The blower was easy to assemble, I cannot say it started after two pulls, so far, it has taken several pulls to start. When using during the last storm turning off and restarting started right up no issues. Throws snow very good like a two stage, a bit clumsy maneuvering in tight areas, but not overly heavy. I order or buy non alcohol fuel. More expensive but I do not like using 10% in mower and will not use in this. My mower is going strong for 12 years now. Spray auger area w silicone, have had very little clogging, only in very wet slush, it will clog a bit. I'm very satisfied with this blower, The last storm was well over 12" you have take half cuts but it works great, Much better than having to $, store, and muscle a large two stage. Would def recommend. Only give 4 stars because I have only used once, no longevity / reliability rating yet. ... show more

  • Nice snowblower , but poor assembly line quality
First the good stuff. The snowblower arrived two days before the scheduled delivery date. The time from the opening the box to running was a half hour. The snow blower starts easily in fact I haven’t even needed to use the electric start. It cleans down to the pavement and has enough power to clear heavy wet snow. And now the bad. When I first went to engage the auger nothing happened. I double checked the cable adjustment, but no go. I also noticed the engagement cable wouldn’t return when the handle was released. I removed the side cover and found the belt wasn’t on the auger pulley which is an easy fix, but the auger cable not returning was not. The bolt that retains the idler pulley located down by the left wheel was over torqued and the pulley wasn’t able to turn. So I figured I’d remove the left wheel to access the pulley, but unfortunately the bolt was stripped and it appears it was cross-threaded as well. I managed to get an offset combination wrench in place to loosen the bolt an 1/8 turn at a time until the idler pulley would turn freely. I installed the belt on the pulleys and double checked the auger operation. All in all an excellent snowblower, but the factory assembly leaves A LOT to be desired. BTW the tensioner retaining nut was loose as well. ... show more

  • Piece of CRAP!! A MUST READ my full review.
The instructions to assembly this suck! There is no CS to talk to. Using it for the first time, in light 3" of snow, the belt fell off after the first swipe! Luckily, but shouldn't of had to and it wasn't easy to do, managed to get the belt back on, after disassembling the side cover (you have to take the panel off using 3/8” ratchet then loosen the fly wheel 3/4” ratchet to slip the belt back on while having the red bar in the open position. I tied it with a twist tie. With a lot lot of swearing just to put the belt back in place. That’s after the tension was adjusted so it wouldn’t happen again. But it did. If I hadn't had the wrenches and sockets, there would of been no way to do it. The machine itself, is quite heavy, so taking it to a repair shop would not of been an easy task nor near impossible to get in the back of an SUV. Would have to have 2 people to do that. Second time using it in light snow again, it has been working ok. Fingers crossed it will stay on. Haven't had heavy snow to rate it in this or the shedder aspect of it. Update: February 2, 2022: My advice DO NOT BUY. This is a piece of CRAP!!! We just had 4-5” of light snow and this stopped working AGAIN!!! This is only the 3rd time I’ve used it since I bought it. Or should I say tried to use it. Haven’t had a chance to see what the problem is yet, but it shouldn’t have ANY. Also, when snow builds up in the shoot outer rim, where it is suppose to swivel, forget it, it won’t. Unless you take the snow out of the rim it won’t budge. I bought this because of the Briggs & Stratton name. But it’s obvious that the quality of years past has gone by the wayside. There were no negative reviews when I was looking, but all the ones I see now, are from the same timeframe as when I bought it, February 2021. UPDATE 2/18/22: Well the belt fell off AGAIN! Right on startup. Calling BRIGGS and Stratton is USELESS. Automated that ONLY directs you to a Dealer/repair shop. Talking to one, they indicated they have others in repair shop with same issue. They have been waiting over 2 WEEKS for a call back. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty & filed a claim with them. Will see what they can do to help in this NIGHTMARE. Will update later. ... show more

  • It does the job
After reading reviews i was concerned how well it might perform. To my surprize its doing quite well. Several reviews mentioned the rubber paddle wears quickly or thed drive belt slipped off and jamed up. 3 snowfalls so far and everything is fine. Plowed right through 7" of snow!

  • Unhappy with first use!
Bought it for my daughter to replace an old Sears Craftsman snow blower that despite its age worked very good but too big for my daughter to handle. Bought b/c of price and more manageable size and electric start. She had a 6-8 inch snowfall and went to clear her approximate 80 foot driveway. Started great, she went about 40 ft and auger stopped running. She attempted to adjust control to no avail and called me. I live 3 hrs away and came next day. Found auger drive belt off, not easy to replace. would not stay on. I took it to a repair shop, they found that the belt idle arm was not properly attached. They fixed that and now it works. In the interim, consider what she and I had to put up with. I'm 75 years old and had a heck of a time putting unit into my SUV myself. Probably should have paid more and gotten her the more expensive Toro. Not sure who or what at B&S caused this slip up! ... show more
