  • So good so far
I purchased this 250 a couple of weeks ago. Even though there are lots places that will sell them I wanted the peace of mind purchasing through Amazon. The sellers customer service has been fantastic. Shipping was fast and the thing runs great. I did notice that the fuel line was cracked where it attaches to the carb. Fortunately I discovered this in the last run through before filling with gas or gas would have wound up everywhere. No problem though because I am replacing the fuel line and adding a fuel cut off as well as a high quality fuel filter. Imperative that you don't let gas remain in the carb when you're done riding. If you're not handy with tools and have some mechanical inclination this is not for you. If you just use loctite on everything and stay on top of the maintenance this will serve you fine. I would recommend this seller and the TaoTao 250. **UPDATE** Since I purchased this ATV I have put about 200 hours on it. I replaced the shocks which made a huge difference in ride quality. Went to a 14 tooth drive sprocket which really helped on the low end. Replaced the rear 8" tires with 10" Swamp Fox tires which made a world of difference with the traction. I replaced the stock chain when I changed out the sprocket and this (along with a chain alignment tool) eliminated the chain coming off. I also have a 150D and did several mods on it but the 250D is my favorite. I still have a new 30mm carb, intake and exhaust to install and after that there is little to do except ride. I have had this thing in water up to my knees, deep mud, rough, hilly trails - its been put through the ringer and she still keeps on running great. ... show more

  • They have not fulfilled there promise to me about this Item
I have had issues with this Item. They have offer to send me the new parts. And now that I have sent them pictures of the bad parts. They have not sent them. And I have carburetor and clutch problems. They say they will send the parts. But will not pay to have them installed. The ATV has less then 5 hours on it. The chock handle also fell of, and it to was a factory install part. The support bracket for the rear luggage came to me stripped out. And I do not think I should have to pay to have the carburetor and clutch installed on the ATV. When it came from the factory defective. If you buy a car and there is a issue from the factory. They pay for the parts and labor. I have no ideal of how to replace these items. And I told there mechanic this on the phone. And I would need them to find a place and pay the bill to get it done. They keep sending me emails to send them pictures of the problem. And I have sent them to them two times. And still getting emails to send them the pictures. The pictures I have sent where labeled, and very clear. Now they are telling me that the clutch is no available. And I need to find it locally ... show more

  • Best handling ATV I’ve ever owned. Do a good physical inspection first and tighten the loose bolts.
Best handling ATV I’ve ever ridden or owned. The more I ride it the more I like it. This ATV required much attention during the assembly process. More than I had imagined. Much of the framing and steering components needed all the bolts checked for snugness many being quite loose. I suggest changing the oil and starting the motor before fully assembling to see if there are any electrical or fuel issues. Best to troubleshoot any runtime anomalies before shrouding the internal components with plastic covers and tires. My kill switch was stuck and it was easier to troubleshoot the problem before fully assembled. Also running the engine causes natural vibrations that revealed what nuts and bolts were loose and needed tightening. The dust covers on the tie rod ends on the front steering as well as the ball joints on the suspension lacked sufficient grease from the factory. You may want to pack grease inside the rubber covers before full assembly. The back axle is not very wide. Looks funky so I put 2 inch aluminum spacers on each back tire to push them out, gave better stability, and looks much better. The front and back plastic rack covers as well as the front grill vibrate loudly, so I just took the plastic off, looks so better too. The front grill plastic occluded the headlight beams and the light beam didn’t go to ground, just shadow, so by taking that plastic off I regained front lighting capability. The chain looks heavy duty but in reality it stretches after use. May want to get a performance chain sometime soon that can handle the load. I like the 4 speed and the motor design, has enough speed to get down the trail. I put air shocks on the front and the ride is much better than factory components. I replaced the small factory handlebars with a full size one, had to drill a small hole near handgrip on the underside to accept the no slip tab on the left switch assembly. Watch out for that. I’m having fun with the machine. It’s meant for someone who likes to tinker, and it’s not maintenance free. It is what it is and I give 3 star rating but 5 stars on price! Remember these photos show some nonfactory parts installed so my machine looks and performs better than factory. ... show more

  • Good customer service!!!!
Just purchased two of these 250cc's and one 110cc atvs for my 8 acre property. They were pretty easy to put together with the step by step video. One of the tires were flat when I received it, when I called taotao they overnighted me one and I had it the next day free of charge. They go pretty fast about 50mph, and they're a good value for the cost. No problems yet I've had them for a month. ... show more
