  • Great customer support, some broken parts.
UPDATE: Bowthy reached out to me after writing this review and offered a partial refund. I appreciate their customer support, but they weren’t able to replace the broken parts that I had, despite there being a “12 month warranty.” I received this product in September 2020, but wanted to wait a few months to test it out before reviewing it. All images are from when I first unboxed it while I was putting it together. Here are some pros and cons I’ve found after using it for 6 months: PROS -12 month warranty -Assembly was pretty simple (see picture) and the parts were all separated and labeled to make it easier. -Super cute and looks just as pictured -Decent lumbar pillow -Rolls well even on carpet -Easily adjust height of both the chair AND the arms of the chair -Can recline all the way CONS -Came with multiple cracked plastic parts (see pictures) -The main leather body of the chair did not have holes drilled into the side where I needed to put screws in to attach it to the seat, so I had to poke holes in the leather myself. (See picture) -The white elastic straps attached to the cushions came dirty (See picture) -I think there was something wrong with the spring on one side of the seat where the reclining lever was, because I had to pull really hard to get the tension to release and it made a loud twang when it finally did. It works fine now though and can easily be adjusted. (See picture) -The “rocking” is kind of unstable and the chair feels shaky if you try rocking it back and forth or side to side (not unbearable though) -The seat cushion isn’t comfy after sitting for 3+ hours a day. I suggest using an extra seat cushion/pillow. -The head pillow isn’t comfy and the height isn’t adjustable. I had to take it off because it sat at a weird height for me and hurt my neck. - The USB vibrating massage function in the lumbar pillow is meh. Summary: The assembly of the product was simple enough, though there were some defects in my particular parts that made it difficult for me. Several of the plastic parts came damaged or dirty. The chair it’s self is extremely cute, height easily adjustable, and rolls nicely. Lumbar support pillow is nice if at the correct level for you. However the seat cushion is not comfortable if you’re spending more than 3 hours sitting on it, and rocking in the chair feels a bit unstable. ... show more

  • Seat adjustment broken on arrival
Color: Red
Just received my Bowthy gaming/computer about an hr ago, & finished putting it 2gether only 2 find that the back wont recline, no matter what i do i cant get it out of the straight up position. Now i gotta contact the MFG & get a new seat back adjustment. Lets hope they respond real quick.(fingers crossed) Update: after talking 2 the MFG the 1st thing they did was say that the reclining mech. was fine when it left the MFG plant. ( rule #1 NEVER Blame the customer) and am i sure i pulled up on the handle release? REALLY? so after trying 4 about the 33rd time i told them it still wouldnt release. They finally said they would send out a replacement recliner mech. So my final thoughts on that matter r i would never buy from them again. u DONT blame the CUSTOMER, even if there @ fault, its not good 4 business. there response should have been : sorry 4 the inconvenience we will send out a replacement mech right away. I have been in the customer service industrie most of my adult life (now retired), u NEVER, EVER tell the customer it was there fault, even if it was. Now 4 a review of the chair itself, the build quality seem 2 b ok, after all the pushing & pulling, moving up& down leaning ,pushing back on the seat back trying 2 get the back seat adjustment 2 work i would say that it is solidly built, the seat its self is about 4" thick (just what i was looking 4) but just a little bit 2 firm 4 my liking so i had 2 add a seat cushion 2 it, the PU leather seems 2 b just a cut above other chairs i have tried out so thats a plus. the width of the seat is a little narrow 4 me, but not a deal breaker, im 5'10" 260lbs so its just a little tight in the hip area, but i can live with it. So would i recommend this chair? i would, just keep in mind that @ 4" thickness of the seat, its still a little firm 4 my liking.U might need a chair pad. I had originally give this chair 4 stars but after the interaction with the MFG, the firmness of the seat, i dropped it down 2 3 stars. Glenn ... show more

  • The seat is superhard and the back isn't as supportive
Color: Red
The chair is big in size and clunky. It is hard to move around the wheels seem to get stuck. The seat is not comfortable at all it is superhard and I cannot sit in it for more than 30 mins because it causes discomfort. I'm really disappointed because it seemed like a good chair but I've had it less than a year and it is already wobbly. ... show more

  • Not great
Color: Red
Back massager worked for about 4 days. Now the chair tilts forward and to the left. Definitely made very cheap. Wish I would have spent more and gotten something better. Look good tho...

  • Sturdy Chair, but Take Caution
Color: Black
I purchased this chair in May of last year. I am pretty steadily around 340 lbs these days, so I figured it was rated perfectly for me: I'd had my previous chair for a year and a half and had gotten one under my weight, and by the end it was leaning to one side and the seat cushion was basically nonexistent. I had immediate issues with this chair: despite a higher rating and sturdier construction, it is a SMALLER chair. The bucket style of the seat pinched in my thighs and has left me with bruises and sores after long sessions working from home. Since the armrests are attached to the bottom rather than the sides, they constantly push in against my thighs, even at full height only reaching to the tops of my thighs. While a cover and extra cushion on the seat were able to keep me from getting bruises and marks, this only made the armrests worst. As seen in the picture posted, however, the chair has not withstood the test of time and usage: less than a year after purchasing it, the regular seat cushion feels hard as a rock, but more importantly, the armrests are bent outward, and the entire seat is stuck on a constant forward tilt, and won't tilt back OR stay raised if I try to lift it. As such it is causing me tremendous pain in my knees, back, and tailbone to stay seated in it for a day of work, and I'm already needing to seek a replacement. If you are larger and near the weight rating of this chair, consider larger and sturdier options if you want something that will endure and be comfortable. ... show more
