  • Not bad but not great.
Color: White-2
The Cam itself works well enough esp if you need video proof of say Vandalism. This cam saved me over $10K on a hit and run from a drunk driver. My biggest annoyance was how easily bugs can set off the notifications and annoy me even when setting the motion to "Bear" mode meaning nothing smaller than a bear or small car should trigger it. Disconnects quite often and having to reconnect. Its ok for the price if you dont mind making blind payments to a Chinese Company. After cancelling as I no longer need this, they keep emailing me to pay saying I owe them money LMAO. ... show more

  • It is a good camera…..but
Color: White-2
Removing the mounting bracket cover is a challenge. The first camera I got had to be returned because of this problem. The instructions for this with the package are pretty useless. Go on YouTube to see how it is done but you will have use a small tool like a small screwdriver to push the fasteners free to get it open. ... show more

  • After Years of Use Would No Longer Recommend
Color: White-2
First day with the device, so I will update this with more thoughts after testing the night vision and living with for a while. The night vision ended up being pretty decent as long as the viewing area you are looking at has enough ambient light. If you yard is pitch black past a certain distance, you really aren't going to see anything with clarity. Installing the Camera The Good: they provided a drilling sticker so it was easy to know where to put the anchors and screws. Didn't take much time. The device setup was fairly simple. The Bad: the cord is pretty short. We had to add an usb extension cable to reach our plug. The Camera During daylight hours we are getting pretty good clarity. The alarm is loud and I have a feeling it is so loud my neighbors are going to complain if I use it. The talk feature makes it easy to give delivery drivers directions and the vocal clarity over the speakers sounds relatively natural. There is a bit of a delay with the video on my network, so sometimes conversations are not easy. The bad: we are getting a lot of wind noise on the recordings. My only complaint about the camera itself is the coating on the cord doesn't seem particularly thick and I'm worried about how it will stand up to the elements. Might be worthwhile investing in a cord protector and I found the SD card drawer to be very difficult to open even with the blue stick that is designed to open it. I don't love having to pay the yearly subscription fee to a cloud service, but the monthly option for 3 days (the cheapest plan) of recording is only 1.99 so it's not terribly expensive. The downside is if you are on a internet service like sparklight without unlimited bandwidth, they eat bandwidth like crazy, especially if you have 3 or 4 cameras. After having these for 2 years, I really don't feel I could recommend this product any longer. For the first year, I had pretty normal operation, but this year, they started to constantly drop from my network, so we extended our network. All cameras have more than 90% signal strength now and they still constantly drop from the network. They also do this thing were if we try to review footage from the SD card, they completely freeze up. It was suggested that I should replace with better SD cards, bought the fastest SD cards made for video and they still freeze upon scrolling through my feed. One camera in particular tends to eat SD Cards, once they fill up instead of writing back over the card, it will tell me the device can no longer find your SD card. The cost of constantly replacing SD cards that will no longer format when put into another device, because this camera is bricking them has exceeded the cost of the camera. The video clarity is nice, but if you drop your cloud subscription and only use your SD cards for all day recording, you can only view live video for a few seconds before you have to refresh constantly. The bottom line: Do I hate these devices? Not really they do what they are supposed to do 75% of the time. Would I buy them again? Absolutely not. ... show more

  • Camera is good, but the cloud service needs a lot of improvements
Color: White-2
First, I'll speak on the camera. It's a nice size with a good picture. Night vision is really good also, but can get finicky when the ambient light hovers around the point where the camera switches. My front door camera constantly switches back and forth between night vision and and normal all night long due to a street lamp in the area. I have had to explicitly turn off night vision to avoid this. One complaint that I have is that the cord is not detachable from the camera so instead of having to drill a hole small enough for something like a micro-usb to fit through, I had to drill a large hole for a full size USB to fit through. Lastly, my front door camera will lose connection on occasion and I won't get a notification for it. The service still thinks it's connected, but won't show me video or anything until I power cycle it. Minor annoyance, but if someone stole a package from my front porch while the camera was malfunctioning and I didn't know, I would not be a happy camper. Now, lets talk about the cloud service... It needs A LOT of improvement. Motion detection has sensitivity levels, however even on the very lowest setting, I am constantly getting notifications about bugs, rain, snow, headlights, leaves blowing and even shadows. Most of these notifications aren't just for motion, it says a person was detected which at first was alarming. I thought a convention was going on in my back yard the first night it snowed after installing the camera. Next, the cloud service boasts facial recognition to which it does rarely recognize a face and most of the time doesn't attribute it to someone that was already known. I pay for the lowest service level (at the time I'm writing this, it's $2/month) and I will honestly say it isn't even worth that. I am thinking of buying a couple micro SD cards and trying to the onboard storage option to see how well that works... Lastly, the mobile app. It's decent and does what is should, but I have one major complaint. The video recording / timeline scrubber is WAY too sensitive. It's virtually impossible to drag the timeline and stop it on an event that you want to view. Usually when you lift your finger off the screen, it moves the timeline again resulting in it starting the replay after what you want to see or way before it. All in all, I would recommend these cameras for the hardware only. The cloud service is not worth paying for at this time. ... show more
