Description

Let’s talk about time for a moment, it’s the one thing in life that is given equally to everyone. Regardless of our circumstances, jobs, or family commitments we all have exactly 24 hours to use each day. Time is precious and fleeting. It will not wait for any of us to use it up or share with others. Cooking meals and cleaning dishes takes effort and a lot of time. Day-after-day meals need to be made, and then the cleanup begins. It’s a necessary part of life. Blendtec blenders significantly reduce meal prep time and cleanup. When you buy a Blendtec blender you’re not only buying the world’s most advanced blender, you’re also buying yourself more time. How can a blender give you more time? It comes down to technology and design. Our advanced technology and jar design create a vortex, which pulls food towards the blade instead of pushing it to the sides of the jar like our competitors. With Blendtec jars, you won’t waste time tending your blends with a tamper to get all the ingredients down into the blades, and no tamper means one less thing to clean when you’re done. Blendtec blenders can also heat your food during the blend cycle. For instance, if you want soup for dinner, a Blendtec blender can blend it up and heat it up at the same time so it’s ready to serve straight from the blender jar. No need to heat your soup in a pan. Can your old blender do that? No pan and no additional heating time means less cleanup. Not only can Blendtec blenders heat your food, they can also make ice cream. Actual ice cream can be made with the exact same blender that makes soup. Drinks, appetizers, main courses, and desserts can all be made with the same blender using the same jar. The time it takes to make each course could be measured in seconds not minutes or hours. Cleanup for an entire multi-course meal could be as simple as pushing the pre-programmed, self-cleaning button to wash a single jar, and just like that, you’ll be done. There is a reason that having the world's most technologically advanced blender is worth every penny, it gives you more time to focus on life and the people who matter to you.

abunda_amazon_reviews I was hesitant because this is refurbished but compared to the new options from similar brands, I couldn't justify spending the extra money. Previously, I used a Magic Bullet, which is good but not really adequate for long-term, heavy-duty blending. I used this to make a fruit smoothie with frozen berries and soy milk. I used the smoothie button, which gives a countdown of 60 seconds before turning off. The frozen fruit processed perfectly and there was only a little bit of berry seeds left behind (not even enough to really notice). It was a perfectly smooth texture. No lumps, no chunks of ice, and no clumps of fruit. It got stuck during blending. All it needed was a bit more liquid and it was fine. I like that this blender has the power switch in the back too. The jar is very easy to clean because it's square. I like this design a lot better than other brands because I hate having to take apart the jar to clean it thoroughly. I haven't used the other features on the blender but for a first try, it worked perfectly. For a refurbished unit, there's nothing cosmetically wrong with it. It looks like a brand new model. The jar and lid are brand new but the base is not. I attached pictures of the blade and stopper for the lid. I like that the lid opening is small enough to drop ice cubes or oil or whatever, without taking off the lid. November update: The blender still works well and I've had time to use the other features. The soup features takes about 2 minutes to have hot soup but if you want it to be lukewarm, only use one cycle. I made some vegetable soup and it was pureed to a smooth consistency. My only complaint is that the blender is really loud if it is used on a setting higher than 2. I don't use the blender that often but it still suits my needs. Storage hasn't been an issue because the base isn't heavy and doesn't take up much space in my cabinet. Because the jar is square, it lays perfectly on a shelf when not in use.;;Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2017;;4.0 out of 5 stars;;Good so far;;Musicfan;;;I run several miles every day so I like to start out my day with a great high calorie drink. Check the price on one of those price checker websites because it will fluctuate. But we got it cheap and could not be happier, even a higher price is worth it. We have used commercial Blendtec's and Vitamix's and this thing feels the exact same as those. It is not cheap compared to Ninja and those other brands, but I am telling you, this is the last blender you will ever buy. On an older commercial Blendtec we put the jars through some heavy use and got thousands upon thousands of cycles out of each one. So if you happen to make 4 smoothies a day every day of the year that is only 1460 uses a year. This experience sort of shook my belief in Blendtec so I purchased an Oster 1200 glass jar blender that a friend recommended. In the end, I went with this blender given all of the amazing reviews here. That being said, now 100+ blends in, I can safely say the blender does it's job blending, quite well. The wildside jar, too, is easy for getting everything out (and for cleaning). But there's a bigger issue at hand, and it's the jet engine that could wake up an entire house. Nowadays I'm almost less inclined to mix something up because of how loud it is. What really secured my opinion on this is visiting a friend's house this winter, only to see them blend something up in a vitamix with at least 50% noise. I could still talk to the person blending something up, which is impossible with the Blendtec. While this blender does the job well, I imagine one day down the road I'll transition to a vitamix because of, in my opinion, the huge draw back of in-home noise pollution whenever being used.;;Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2016;;3.0 out of 5 stars;;100+ blends in and the sound is deafening;;C. So yea, this thing will last for a very long time.

Beware of refurbished motors
I’m guessing mine was defective but on the very first use I could smell the motor getting hot. I had hoped this was due to the refurbishment process and maybe just some left over grease on it causing the smell. This smell never went away, in fact on the 10th use it started smoking and overheating. Tried to use it again the next day and had the same issue. Seeing I only had it a week I returned it. This experience sort of shook my belief in Blendtec so I purchased an Oster 1200 glass jar blender that a friend recommended. Couldn’t be happier.

Just arrived and I already love it. I took about 5 billion videos to show y'all how great it is but Amazon only allows one video per review :( Incredibly easy to use with no issues so far despite it being refurbished. Lid was a bit dirty and the pitcher is a little scratched, but that's all cosmetic. It's a little loud but, I'm blending ice so I'd be surprised if it were quiet. The blade isn't sharp which makes cleaning and drying it safer. While the blade isn't sharp, this thing will still blend anything you put in it due to sheer power.

100+ blends in and the sound is deafening
I went back and forth between this machine and the slightly less powerful vitamix. While this blender does the job well, I imagine one day down the road I'll transition to a vitamix because of, in my opinion, the huge draw back of in-home noise pollution whenever being used.
