  • Same as Harbor Frieght but $30.00 more.
This is the same drill press as the $69.00 Harbor Freight model. Different color. You can compare pictures. I looked at my local store. Dead Ringer. This did come with a decent vice and a cheap set of drills. Not worth the difference. This is very common practice in the Chinese tool world. I needed a orbital sander. Same sander everywhere. Menards was lowest on the sander. COMPARE! COMPARE! COMPARE! ... show more

  • Better quality than I was expecting !
Style: 8 inch with Vise
Very pleased with this product. When I purchased this drill press, I was expecting a semi decent product at this price. However, once I put it together, I was really surprised at the excellent build quality of this press, it's very sturdy and surprisingly quiet. I would happily recommend this press to anyone looking for a good bench top drill press at a low price ... show more

  • GREAT FOR THE HOME WORKSHOP
This drill press is by far one of the most economical out there if you are just starting up outfitting your shop. But, that shouldn't be a deterrent. This is a well made, solid, diverse and powerful tool that can handle pretty much anything a press is supposed to handle in a hobbyist or low production pro environment. (I only say this as I don't produce a ton of items). Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Solid Buy for personal shop.
The media could not be loaded. Great buy overall. Quality is great for the price assembles in under twenty minutes. Love the laser and light. Table adjust nicely and it’s not loud. Definitely buying more of their products!

  • Great item when your on a budget

  • Loud and wobbly, very lightweight
(Sometimes the pics are rearanged)From left to right:, pic 1 & 2; the inside of the collar that secures the table to the main upright post, had a lot of material (welding spatter?) that needed to be removed with a file and Dremel, otherwise the table would be crooked. The 3rd picture is of the main upright. At the top, where the table and headstock slide on, was a burr that went all the way around. Presumably from being cut to size at the factory. It also needed to be filed down. The next photo is showing the back of the table near the collar. The process of leveling the table surface creates yet another curl of metal that should have been filed filled smooth. This large burr that runs across the back is sharp and you can see in the picture were it removed some of the material of my leather glove. The next image is of the belt housing area which is a very flimsy metal and it doesn't sit securely. Turning it on and also at lower rpms the belt rubs against some of the wiring along the bottom. The last image is of the point where the chuck and spindle are pressed together. A lot of noise is and vibration coming from there. This rubber gasket is supposed to alleviate that but it is very thin and flimsy. It does little to alleviate the rattle. Over all, I'm very dissatisfied. A week prior,I bought a Harbor freight 8", 5 speed drill press table top and wasn't very happy with that, I paid $50 and took it back. It shook and rattled too. The Harbor freight motor was noticeably heavier and larger in size then the Built Hard motor. I paid over a 100 for the Built Hard and it is worse than the Harbor Freight drill press. After correctly pressing the chuck onto the assembly and on first use, there is a noticable wobble and does not drill straight. I will be sending this back. ... show more

  • Surprisingly Well Made
Product is solidly made, not the usual cheap poor quality I have experienced with tools made in a certain Asian state. Easy to assemble, the bolt holes to join the post to the base actually aligned. Overall it operates smoothly and accurately. On the downside the vibration when using the tool is annoying. The manufacturer notes this in the instructions, I suppose it was less expensive to place a notice in the manual rather than improve the engineering. But despite the vibration I am very pleased with it. ... show more

  • Better than what I had to use before
You do not get the sensation of it being quality for one. For what I need it for it is perfect. I needed to drill a whole lot of holes at a controlled speed perfectly strait up and down. And it gets it done. The up and down motion could use a bit a grease to smooth out the motion but still good. I didn't even have to level the table. The vibration is tolarable. I can tell it's in the pulleys and the belt. The chuck ain't the best but is usable. Could be replaced for a better quality one for a outcome. It's light weight is better for me cause my lifting disability. I had to get it in the house and set up on my bench alone, or I would have bought a larger and better unit. For occasional project use, it suffices well. ... show more
