I absolutely loved this book! I ended up choosing 3 designs from it! There are a few layouts where you have to figure out the dimensions and they all give you the square footage as 'heated space' that don't include the porches so i had to work out the area of the external rooms and add it. It would make life a lot easier if there were the various totals. Also, it would make life so much easier if the book was in the order of number of rooms and bathrooms as one page might have 1 bedroom/1 bath and the next page a 2 bedroom / 2 bath. Otherwise a pretty great resource if you want an idea of possible plans for small houses. It's all the rage and this was a huge help! Shows us just how we can design to maximise land area for trees while living comfortably small. HIghly recommend it! ... show more

This book will definitely show you some great designs both contemporary and traditional. However, in my area we are bound by max. 720 sq ft for an ADU, and there weren’t many modern contemporary options to choose from in this book. Needless to say, it’s a book for SMALL HOUSES and NOT ADU designs. So, take it with a grain of salt. However, it had some cool designs. I would like to see a stock plan book of just strictly ADU designs based on California codes. I don’t live there, but they are the strictest in the land. Thus, you can always peel off layers of restrictions based on your area. Just a thought. ... show more
