So here is the deal for all of you that do not own many tools and do not want to spend a lot of money on a roof rack this one does very well. First - this is fits most cars and whatever the description says is mostly true add I have tested it on several cars. But the fit will not always be as sturdy as you would probably think it should be. There are many considerations to take into account. But having 3 different sets of door clamps makes it pretty adjustable. I have read on the comments of people having faulty parts like a bolt being stripped or bent. I had the tip of one bolt stripped so it wouldn't screw in. Thankfully I have a metal grinder and I cut off the tip and "PRESTO!" it's fixed. But I'm sure not everyone has as many tools as I do. Second- I have read concerns about the noise it makes when you have a load on it. It's called wind noise and no matter what roof rack you buy it will make noise unless you add a shield. Very easy to make if you are a do-it-yourself kinda person. Or you can buy one and attach it. Search for roof rack wind shield. Third - I have also read that they came off while driving. I have never had this issue and I have loaded the rack with something as light as a six foot ladder and up to 300 pounds of wood and been using it for about 7 months. Here are the reasons they may fail whole driving: a) bad installation (not tight enough, not in the right placement of roof, not even) b) overloading and/or load wasn't balanced on the rack which cause severe vibrations and is able to loosen up bolts screws etc. since this rack does not bolt to the roof. It's Physics. c) like I just said this rack DOES NOT bolt to the roof it is just tension held. This means if you do not care to pay attention to attaching your rack properly (you need to know a bit about them to be 100% sure) or strapping things on your rack correctly then your chances of something going wrong will increase. Fourth - once you put heavy stuff on your roof rack and strap it properly (tight) a few times you will definitely see dents on the roof where the clamps attach to the door. This is common as the roof wasn't built to handle weight like that. My recommendations are as follows: a) when you strap anything to them use ratchet straps and wrap through the inside of the car (at least one)and the only way for anything to fall is if the straps break (very, very difficult unless you use a knife). Side note if it's raining the water will come down through the straps into the car if you do this ⬆️ b) if you don't know what you are doing don't buy this unless you are truly willing to learn and put the effort every time you use it. c) remember that this is a pretty cheap product. Most roof racks that come already on SUV's and station wagons are bolted through the roof and cost a pretty penny. Hence why they don't malfunction. So if you want this to be as secure as those you will have to put holes in your car and have it professionally done. Overall I love these cheap racks and if you know what you are doing they are great! ... show more

  • Lock nuts really lock into place..... adjust the length right the first time.
Color: Silver
I used this for a 120-mile summer trip on my 2021 Honda Civic. I stopped once to check the black C-hooks. All of them were fine. Putting this together as well as on my car takes some practice; do it when you have a couple of unrushed hours. Afterwards it only takes minutes. Just know that after you tightnen the inner nuts (not seen in these pictures) along the 2-tracks they are very difficult to adust again; get the spacing on your roof as close to perfect as you can. They control the distance the curved 'feet' (shown) are from either side of the roof and where the curved C-hook grips 'the side of the roof' inside the door. I glued my own rubber gasket material to all the surfaces in contact with my roof and/or exterior. Very Good Deal for the Price. My roof doesn't come with any other roof rack system and I don't have to pay for a permanment one. ... show more

  • Cheaply Made and Doesn’t Stand the Test of Time
Color: Silver
I’ve had these racks for less than a year. (Purchased September 2021) I installed these by myself the day I got them in the mail. (Wasn’t the easiest task, but with some beer and patience, it was a fun experience) Everything seems like it was built to make it “user friendly”. But at the cost of things not being as tight and sturdy as you would want while driving 65+ mph down the freeway. Until recently, never had any issues with them… Just two weeks ago, the front rack ripped off while going down the freeway… luckily, none of my surfboards went with it; but it was definitely a scary situation to be in during rush hour traffic on a busy highway. Turns out the whole front contraption just loosened over time (the rear was just fine)…. Then went to tighten everything down again and the plastic knobs that encapsulate the bolts that tighten everything together, ripped off the bolts. (Hard to explain but I hope the images do it justice) The more you tighten them, the more they get pushed out from tension (I hope that makes sense) Anyways, I spent a few hours just now trying to get these things to retighten and attached to the roof again. No such luck. Every bolt was rusted, most plastic knobs were popping off, my car had been damaged from where they sat on the paint and ripped off… etc. nothing good to report. I don’t recommend buying these. Take it from me; spend the extra 100$ to get the “name brand” and have the peace of mind with the things you tie down to your roof. I would have expected that they would last longer than 10 months of use… Unfortunately, I had to learn the hard way. Hopefully you don’t too. ... show more
