    • Father then you thought, not as far as you expected?
My top surface is magnificent. The base is super heavy duty. Have a friend around to help cart the boxes (base in one, top in another) if possible. Also (or) have a furniture dolly / hand truck to help you move this stuff. It is heavy. Once you get it assembled (which you do upside down) you will have to flip it over. Now it is the weight of the legs AND the top. Friends or family help is a good thing to have here. I love it so far. Works as desired. ... almost ... Lowest position on the unit displace shows as 29.5 inches. This is measured as from the floor it sits on to the top edge of the desk top surface, assuming you have the manufacturer's 1 inch thick top surface. If you chose something else that is thicker or thinner, the numbers will change. 29.5 inches is taller than you might have expected. If you are using it sitting and are not of the taller variety of human, then this still might be too tall. If only mine went down another inch and a half (or two), it would b better for me ergonomically while sitting. As a standing desk, it works great. The memory positions work well and are accurate to the readout (assuming the 1inch thick desktop surface) and actual height. Remember, with almost every other (and this) standing desk, weight limit does not include the desktop surface. A solid wood surface (like mine from the manufacturer) needs to be subtracted from that limit to get your new limit. I have dual 24 inch flat panel LCD monitors, a dual display / single post bolt on (clamp style) stand holding them up, an Intel NUC, and Microsoft surface, and a keyboard and mouse on mine. Not a significant load in any sense. No strain on this thing at all. I am happy with the product. Read out is accurate. Wish it went lower. But adjusting it to a good ergonomic standing position is easy and worth the cost. [hey.. why buy one of these if you are not going to use it that way??] Almost a 5 out of 5 - Gotta go see my physical therapy doc about my new shoulder / arm pains from this. I am just 'this short' of the perfect human size for this. Otherwise, super happy. ... show more

This Autonomous SmartDesk2 is just awesome. Very well-built. Legs and support beams are very sturdy and the desk top is smooth and flawless. The dual motors are sleek too, operates with a very light humming sound, but very faint and wouldn't bother or irritate me. So it's also fair to say it's quiet. Memory function on the controls are handy too. just program it and you're done! I've very surprised about the packaging. It's well packaged that the only way to damage the desk top is through massive mishandling by the carrier. All sides and corners of the desk top's box are covered with another layer of sturdy hard cardboard. Have to take these off first before the box can be opened. Within the box, layers of styrofoam padding protects the desk top. It's actually cheaper when I got this here through Amazon as the Autonomous site lists this at $499. And to be clear, this is brand new. My only complaint: SHIPMENT. Not sure if FedEx is supposed to be better than UPS, but FedEx really annoyed me on this one. The desk comes in two boxes: one for the desk top, and one for the rest (legs, support beams, etc.). For some reason (on the day I expected delivery), I received a delivery exception that they couldn't be delivered due to some "local delivery restriction" and have been rescheduled for the next day. However for some miracle, the box that has the legs came did arrive on that same day, around 8pm, but not the other. I realized this as I saw the delivery guy got back into his truck (plain white truck, probably a FedEx contractor) and drove away. Got a notice that one box delivered, but not the other. Then around 12:45am, I got a motion alert from my front Ring Floodlight Cam of a guy delivering the desk top. Same guy, same truck. Not sure if this is some FedEx contractor issue, but no one wants to receive a package delivery at 12:45am. ... show more

    • Exactly what I needed and a bit nicer than I expected

I assembled this alone and had my computer and monitors set up in under 2 hours! It feels very sturdy and has the needed height adjustment that will work well for both me and my husband. I havenโ€™t set the height memories yet but I expect it will be easy to do. My only constructive feedback is for the assembly instructions to be a little more visual (a few more close up pictures to see which direction a couple of the parts should go in the beginning of the assembly). I ended up putting the pieces together without fasteners to make sure what I thought was correct was indeed correct (it was). Communication with the seller was great! Due to COVID-19 there was a delay for shipment going out and my tracking number was crossed up with someone elseโ€™s order but I received quick responses to questions, my correct tracking number was emailed to me, and delivery was when I expected. If my husband worked at home on a regular basis we would buy a second one. ... show more

Second desk I bought for me and my wife. Table top is solid and quality made. The foundation is solid heavy metal and will last forever. The desk electronics work as expected. Quite and desk raises and lowers easily and effortlessly. Putting it together was easy. Everything is machined perfectly on both desks. Took about an hour from start to finish. Sturdy at any level. My wife is 5ft and I am 6ft 1. Any taller and you might need the taller desk to be ergonomic from a standing position if you are placing keyboard on desk. We bought the uplift desk keyboard trays to add to the desks and they are a great addition to a fully functional office desk. Can't go wrong with this desk...highly recommend it! ... show more
