  • Best light that I take everywhere!!
Style: Single
I take this light everywhere I go. Are restaurants getter darker and darker or is it just me.it’s bad enough I have to use my flashlight on my phone just to read the menu but imagine trying to take a picture of your food? I’m so glad I saw someone using this on Instagram and they put the link. I immediately ordered it. So many brightness settings and easy to charge. Once charged it lasts for a long time. Pictures and videos come out amazing. I’m so glad I invested in this. Worth every penny. ... show more

  • For a little dash of light...
Style: Single
Apurture always stays with technology. This small credit card sized pocket light offers a dash of light where you need it. The only downside is the time it takes to charge. If you have a low light camera or a fast lens this isn't so much of a problem.

  • Aputure AL-M9 Tub Vlog Review -Fantastically Small light!
The media could not be loaded. BedVlogs Review: Great Aputure AL-M9 LED Light vs CRAPPY Sima 64 LED light Quick Showdown in a TUB Review #aputure : Aputure AL-M9 LED Light vs Sima SL-300LXi On-Camera LED Light (5300K) Obviously great natural light is always the VERY best. And a nice LED lighting kit like the great Aputure HR672W is wonderful. But the best light [like the best camera] is always the one you have one you. This LED light you can ALWAYS have in your pocket. One year ago i had never heard of Aputure, then i started to do an INSANE amount of research when looking for an inexpensive LED lighting kit. I quickly discovered prolific reviews that shows Aputure Made great low cost products and i quickly ordered the Aputure HR672W [~$250] LED lights. And we love them here at the Bed Vlogs. That said, i have many times just had a Sony Action Cam or an iPhone and NO LIGHT and wanted to vlog. So i tried the Aputure AL-M9 and and the Sima Sima SL-300LXi. And i could not believe HOW INSANELY bad the Sima was and how INSANELY good the Aputure AL-M9 was. And the Aputure is SOOOO much smaller which makes it the obvious choice. About the only wish for the Aputure AL-MP lights would be that it’s charging cable were USB type C instead of Micro USB. I believe USB C is the cable of the future and would love one cable to rule them all. Also, it would be great to have a second larger size of this kind of light too. Also, pocket sized 8’ light stands would be great if Aputure could figure a way to make these pocket sized too. -- Eric ZORK Alan [Mac Consultant since 1984] ... show more

  • Light, Small, Powerful
Style: Single
This light was needed for some photography/videography work, and more recently Zoom chats and live streams. It was wonderfully small and light so it was no issue bringing it with me when I needed it, or to mount it on a small tripod and get angles I needed. It charges easily (almost docked a point for not being USB-C as that would've been best though) and holds the charge well. It also works while charging for essentially unlimited use. It is a must for my kit and I highly recommend that. I do just need to say though, that you might be better off buying the more expensive/higher end Aputure Amaran MC RGBWW Mini On Camera Video Light,3200K-6500K/ its essentially the same size and at least as bright with nice remote control abilities and light warmth controls. It is $100, and you'll be hard pressed to find better than the Aputure AL-M9 for $50, but the extra functions really are one's you'd hope for. ... show more

  • Bright light. Nice color. Terrible shadows.
Style: Single
Hmmmm. Not sure if I'm gonna keep this light. I love the concept a lot. It's a nice, bright light and the color looks to be pretty good. I gave it 3 stars for color, luminance and portability. But unfortunately this light's design results in some unflattering attributes when lighting subjects. The light uses 9 LEDs, spaced out from each other in sets of 3. So there are 3 columns of 3 LEDs a little over an inch away from each other. To keep this light low profile, the magnetic diffusion panel that attaches to the front of the light sits so close to the LEDs that you can clearly see the 3 columns of LEDs shining through it (see photos). The diffusion panel can not even out the light it projects because of its proximity to the source. It's basically sitting directly on top of the LEDs. The result of this is that you get some really nasty shadows on whatever you light with this. The light will produce 3 separate shadows stacked on top of each other thanks to the 3 columns of LEDs (see photos). So imagine 3 nose shadows on someone. Because of this, I docked one star. I also docked a second star for the cheap filters they included. The light has magnetic spots to attach a single diffusion frame which they include. But they also include some really crappy, cheap paper gels/diffusion to stick between that frame. It's janky. They have magnets already built into the light's bezel so I don't understand why they didn't use them and make the gels magnetic panels, similar to the milk diffusion panel they included. The paper gels are not cut to size and they stick out of the light (see photos). I'll probably return it. Can't decide yet. ... show more

  • Good light source.
Style: Single
General I purchased this product to attach to our DJI Osmo and use with our other camera systems. Sometimes you need just a little extra light for filming videos and taking pictures. Packaging I love the way this was packaged. It came in a box and inside the box, the LED light, filters, mounting system, and charging cord is in a black carry case. Pros: This has the ability to change light levels which is key. You don't always need a bright light. Since it is packed in a carry case it will be easy to keep organized in a camera bag. It is also extremely light in weight so when its attached to a camera it is not going to hurt your arm for those long recording sessions. The battery seems to last a long time. I have yet had to recharge mine. Cons Its made of plastic so there is a cheap feel to it. The mount is made of metal but the LED light itself is not. I am afraid if I drop it that it will break. Recommendations Despite my concern about it being made out of plastic, i would buy another if this ever broke or was misplaced. I would also recommend to my friends ... show more
