abunda_amazon_reviews Hmmmm. Not sure if I'm gonna keep this light. I love the concept a lot. It's a nice, bright light and the color looks to be pretty good. I gave it 3 stars for color, luminance and portability. But unfortunately this light's design results in some unflattering attributes when lighting subjects. The light uses 9 LEDs, spaced out from each other in sets of 3. So there are 3 columns of 3 LEDs a little over an inch away from each other. To keep this light low profile, the magnetic diffusion panel that attaches to the front of the light sits so close to the LEDs that you can clearly see the 3 columns of LEDs shining through it (see photos). The diffusion panel can not even out the light it projects because of its proximity to the source. It's basically sitting directly on top of the LEDs. The result of this is that you get some really nasty shadows on whatever you light with this. The light will produce 3 separate shadows stacked on top of each other thanks to the 3 columns of LEDs (see photos). So imagine 3 nose shadows on someone. Because of this, I docked one star. I also docked a second star for the cheap filters they included. The light has magnetic spots to attach a single diffusion frame which they include. But they also include some really crappy, cheap paper gels/diffusion to stick between that frame. It's janky. They have magnets already built into the light's bezel so I don't understand why they didn't use them and make the gels magnetic panels, similar to the milk diffusion panel they included. The paper gels are not cut to size and they stick out of the light (see photos). I'll probably return it. Brighter than I thought, at 4 feet this would provide significant fill for an on-camera subject. It's not going to light a scene for you but it's very small and light. Smaller than a deck of cards, slightly thicker than my iPhone 6 and the footprint of a playing card or credit card. Comes with a neoprene zipper case to carry the light and accessories. The shoe mount looks like it will be fine but probably wouldn't last long if you just threw it in a production bag with a bunch of other heavy things. This was too cheap not to try and I'm glad I did. If you have a camera made for low light (Sony A7s) it could stretch the use of this light in very dark scenarios. You can tell this has been over-designed in a good way. It’s the little things, like when you turn the light on it ramps up to brightness so it won’t blind you when you turn it on. The little magnets that hold the front diffuser are reversed, so you can’t put on sideways. It will operate while it’s plugged in, so you can literally run this light all day (or longer so long it’s plugged in). Your biggest hold out will be that you’ve read somewhere that physically larger lights will produce better quality light, and physically small lights like this one will produce hash and unpleasant looking shadows. Well, all you’ll have to do is bounce this light off a wall, and boom, you’ve got a large light source. There really is no reason not to have this. I use it for photography, videography, and also as a flashlight if I’m walking around at night.;;Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2018;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;I wish I had bought this sooner.;;Michael;;/gp/customer-reviews/R35YKXMQUHD6LX/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B01ITRLJIW;;;I'm a lighting technician in the film industry and I use these lights really, really often.
