I live in a house that is over 100 years old and has very small almost non existant closets. I bought this for my very small BR because I was tired of my clothing being so crammed into the closet that I could barely find things. I removed my dresser and mirror as well as a small lingerie dresser I had to fit this in. I had to rearrange entire room to fit it. But it actually opened up room in the Bedroom once done. I was amazed at the sturdiness as I have looked at many similar that were not sturdy at all. It went together very easily, though I do have a lot of experience putting stuff together, less than 30 min to be done putting it together and start putting clothing on it. I used fabric crates that I had to put on each shelf to seperate clothing. The plastic shelf liners are nice, but had to remove for the crates as each time you pull one out and put it back, it messed up the liner. This fit all of my husbands clothes except for his good suit and most of my clothes except for dresses and those things went in our 26 inch wide closet. My folded shirts and sweat shirt are in the remaining chest of drawers, which was overstuffed and now has plenty of room. It was stable enough that I did not feel I needed to use the wall mounting hardware. I would use it if you have toddlers though. It also arrived 2 days before expected which made me very happy. I was able to carry it in the house by myself, so not too heavy, well marked parts. I got the bronze one, was a little disappointed that the hanging rods were chrome though. Also their is not enough room to space the rods to avoid longer shirts and stuff overlapping, but I had that in my other cloest too. If you need extra closet space, I would highly recommend this product, would be great to add to a walk in closet too, without the very high cost of custom closet products. I will likely end up buying another for the laundry room...plenty of hanging space and plenty of storage for things like soap, extra supplies, your iron, etc. You can not go wrong with this. Bonus, no dresser drawers for my husband to leave hanging open...one of his worst habits! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This closet system was easy and quick to put together and has helped me to stay organized in my small studio apartment. It is compact yet strong and sturdy and holds a ton of stuff! I can’t imagine how I would stay organized without it!

Works great for my needs. Sturdy and easy to assemble. All the parts were there. For the price, I wish it came with hanging hooks. Other than that, it’s really good. Would buy again if needed.

We love our closet! It does exactly what we need it to! There is lots of space on the top and bottom clothes rack for all of our clothes! We thought we over packed for it but in reality we under packed! The quality is nice however be careful with over filling it because it does start to bow in the middle when you have the closet fully extended. Building it was a pain, it took my dad and I about an hour and a half maybe 2 hours to build at most. There was also one part missing that held the top shelves in place. We made it all work out though! Over all I recommend this product and if I ever need another, I’d buy again! ... show more

I loved this product very sturdy even when fully loaded, no worries of the organizer being able to stand up to the weight of all the heavy clothes, the instructions were vague but I tend to be a more visual learner so I just duplicated the picture in the instructions and repeated until both towers were complete. Great value for money and I had it put together in under 40 minutes by myself will definitely purchase again. ... show more

    • Very solid alternative to custom closet options

I fortunately stumbled upon this closet kit when I was trying to come up with a solution for my Mother-In-Law’s closet area. The walls were unfortunately either too long or short for the Closetmaid products. I also looked at having Home Depot custom cut me some Rubbermaid shelves as well, but after including all the brackets and such that added up to $240+. This solution for $80 is very very solid. You can even buy two if you have at least 6’ x 6’ area in your closet. As far as the product itself, it’s sturdy enough, but not sturdy as a rock. But it’s more than sufficient. Putting it together is easy too, and only requires on person. One tip that I found odd in the instructions is you want to actually put the tension rod brackets on much earlier in the shelf building process than it says (like the first tension rod bracket should almost be on the first (lowest) bar). The way they have you do it you have to unscrew the top portions to put the tension brackets back on after you’ve already built your two side shelf stacks. I got the chrome metal version of this and it looks pretty good. I’d love for Amazon to offer parts if this to better allow you to customize your combos a little more to better fit individual closets, but this still deserves 5 stars for sure.
