I need a new hand blender, saw this item and went for it 1. What's in the box? You receive the blender (two piece), plus a whisk, a plastic bowl with blade attachment, and a plastic measuring/mixing cup and the usual sparse instructions. 2. Aesthetic. Form fits functions here. The thing looks fine in silver and plastic. It is not quite as refined looking as the more expensive brand I was using, but again, it looks good enough (it is also half the cost of what I previously purchased). 3. Use: Well, first off this thing has no safety switch. This means that the blades can spin if you hit the button. Second the blades are really sharp. I sliced my finger open on the blade merely by running my hands over the blade and so did my wife despite being careful. I have been using this so I am unsure whether the blades have been dulled a bit, but wow. Although at times needing two hands to turn the other blender on is a pain, not having it leads to a belief this could seriously mess up a day for someone and worse by mere accident of not even doing anything. So be careful. The good?: This has a nice powerful motor and it is pretty quiet though is has more power than most other blenders. This is a great feature. Plus, all the attachments are nice to have given that it is extra money for other brands. Overall: I would think about whether my children would use this. Given the lack of a safety button, this could be somewhat dangerous on the wrong hands. Other than this though for the money, this is a really good value. Again, it is cheaper, and so it has some cheaper features, but for my purposes it is a great choice. ///Update: So after about half a dozen uses on things that shouldn't present heavy stress on the thing, the blender died. It wouldn't start but I found that if I banged it, it limped with the two different buttons. Needless to say, after a few uses and really liking this, I am not happy and shouldn't;t experience this. I'm currently chef de cuisine in a steady volume restaurant, and I needed a new immersion blender. So I bought this because the price was right, and 500w has some 'oomph' to it. I low-key expected this thing to be kind of a throwaway, but after a week of constant, heavy use, i've been pleasantly surprised! I've three sauces and two foams on the line that more or less need constant re-aeration/emulisification before and during service. Pros: -- powerful -- nice, heavy weight (doesn't feel 'cheap') -- easy adjustible speed wheel, and a "turbo" button for the insane person -- detachable head is simple enough, steel easy to rinse off quickly. 8" long, works great -- cord is 5ft long from base to prong -- great price point Cons: -- not cordless (but the cord is long enough that it probably isnt a big deal if you're working smart) -- it is a *little* chonky to keep on the line with it's length, but not terrible. Especially if you keep the head unit detached. -- maybe would have liked a color option, because two of my cooks are now buying this thing ++ It's only been a week of heavy use so far, so time will tell, but so far, thoroughly impressed++ //** UPDATE --02/02/23 -- I've been using this thing several times a day for months now. Still in perect working order, as if it had just come out of the box. Still powerful, still easy to use. No issues. The best thing about the blender was the ease of cleaning. It is simple to detach the head and clean it quickly and efficiently in the sink. The main blender tool is effective, even with ice. I was impressed by how few bubbles i get in my smoothies. However, I did notice a few downsides: The whole thing is huge. I was not expecting such a large handle… It seems a little excessive and is definitely bulky, so if you have small hands or don’t have full use of your hands, you might end up using two hands for this. The main blender head is too big to fit in a standard size mason jar lip. This was a huge downside, as it meant I needed to use the provided cup. I also noticed a bit lower quality in the attachments rather than the main blender blade. However, it is a great/quick alternative to a traditional blender. If you only blend things occasionally, this may be the only two we need. but this blender does not hit the mark for.
