It will not read the correct value of anything. It will read .75volts on a AA batteries and it brand new. my others will read 1.5volts. ohms there is no way to reset or 0 the meter and the meter will not read correct. It is just off on everything it dose.

    • Not perfect, but an incredible value
After using this meter for a few months I have to say I'm generally pleased with it. It blows any meter at this price point away in terms of features and includes a nice range of accessories. Deducting a star however because it does have a couple points of frustration. On mine the selector switch is a bit fickle and sometimes you have to wiggle it a bit to get the meter to come on. Additionally, the plastic lens over the screen scratches easily and the probes tangle a lot since there is not really anywhere to hold them. These are minor complaints that are forgivable at this price point, but you should beware that this is not a substitute for a higher end (read: more expensive) meter even though it has a lot of the same functionality as more upmarket products do. This meter lacks the ruggedness and polish you get from those kind of meters. Again though, this is a good bargain at this price point and will serve light users far better than almost any other meter under $50. ... show more

    • I liked my old cheap multimeter better for everyday use
Honestly, I liked my old cheap multimeter better for everyday use, but the Alloet AN8008 squeaks by with a win. My old multimeter would respond a bit faster and with a stronger beep when doing continuity tests, which is something I do often. This multimeter also has an annoying beep when you turn the dial, but I can get over that too. This multimeter makes up for those gripes with it's many added functions and accessories. It comes with several sets of probes, one has attachments for alligator clips which is handy. It also has plenty of settings for things like capacitance that I didn't have before, but I honestly don't use them all that often. Overall, it's great, just don't bother with this unit unless you are actually going to use some of it's extra settings. ... show more

    • Good little meter
I bought this to use around the house so I don't need to walk to my work vehicle when I need a multimeter. Seems to work just fine! Update: If I were to criticize anything about this meter is that it has a battery compartment that’s screwed shut. That isn’t uncommon with multimeters but it’s usually to meet an IP rating for ingress. That’s not applicable here. On devices that I rarely use I like to store the batteries next to the device so they don’t eventually leak inside the device when I need it. Screws are small and finicky and screwed directly into the plastic. Ya ya cheap things are cheap. But considering that is my only critique (and a annoying beeper/buzzer) that’s not bad, just minor critique. ... show more

    • Very precise, solid and compact meter
This is helping me to get into microcontrollers for making environmental sensor measurements. It has every measurement I need: capacitance, resistance, DC voltage, DC current, continuity; and plenty of range and precision. It has been perfect for every thing I measured, including some comparisons to other meters and component specs -- it spotted a major problem with some capacitors that I corroborated with another meter. Aside from one alligator clip that does not quite stay clamped, the probes have all been helpful. Takes up little scarce bench space. Selector dial is very crisp. Best meter I've used over 50 years, and I may not have to acquire a higher grade one as I get into smaller and smaller capacitance, voltage, and current measurements to see how well my microcontrollers are doing with their own ADC measuring. ... show more

    • A zippered case would've been nice! But
Really small! Smaller than I expected, for sure. Didn't come with a box, only a carrying case, which is barely large enough to fit the meter, let alone all the probes and accessories. A zippered case would've been nice! But, you get what you paid for, and then some. My old probes fit this thing just fine. The numbers pop and the backlight is nice and bright. The stand is dinky and looks like it'll break if you breathe on it wrong. Perhaps it's designed to snap away without any damage to the kickplate itself so you can re-insert it if it pops off. (I'm not going to test that to find out.) ... show more

Needed a great little meter for hobby electronics. This meter, as well it's review by others including Dave Jones on EEVBLOG, helped make my decision. Smaller than I had anticipated and great to keep around for quick measurements when I don't feel like pulling out my older 80's style Fluke 77 passed down from my father.     • Decent Meter But You Can Do Better
On the plus side: this meter is quite compact...smaller than most of the others. It seems to work fine, no real complaints on the basic functionality. On the minus side: batteries not included, very flimsy stand mechanism. I don't like the way you select AC/DC...turn the knob to "V" and then use the function key to switch between DC and AC. Many meters have a different knob select for DC volts and AC volts, which is easier to use. The Tacklife Digital Multimeter DM03 looks better to me and as I type this is on sale for $16.97 <prime>.
