I have wire-rimmed progressive glasses and can read fine with my prescription but find that I sometimes need some added magnification when embroidering, painting intricate details or making polymer clay jewelry. With these clip-ons, I can see more clearly, my eyes don’t get strained and I don’t have to hold a magnifying glass. This leaves both my hands free to do the crafts that I love. My glasses are size 51 and these don’t extend past the rims on the side's. They are not too heavy (I got the 3 magnification). You do need to hold items closer to your face and the distance will vary from person to person depending on their eyesight. I love the protective plastic box that they come in with padding. It keeps them protected and prevents them from getting scratched. I’m purchasing a second pair so I can have one in different areas of the house.

These are really powerfull and have a very short focus range.. Like threading a needle.. Limits its use 3 power is a better choice you get a little more room instead on your nose.. Make a fist hold it to your face that close.. give or take an inch or so.. Or a fuzzy mess... My 2.5 I can use flipped down and basically see... 13 inch focus area ... No fuzzy... But the 4 is for super detail at very close.. So if 2.5 are worn you can see items around you to grab etc. 4 power no way gotta flip them.. its a blur.... But clear

I had ordered them specifically because the description mentioned no filter or tint. They are 100% identical to my other clip-ons, (which I love!), that have an "official" blue filter, meaning they are slightly yellow. I use them for crafting, and the change in color bothers me when flipping back and forth frequently. Otherwise they are perfect. Just not what I thought I ordered.
