abunda_amazon_reviews I ordered an Alienware Alpha R2 much like this one through Dell December 2016. All was well. That was until several weeks ago. Just about 24 months give or take a week or so. It died. It powered on, then off, never going into post. I called customer service and they said this is a unique problem that has never happened before, but upon looking at the Dell forums this particular death happens and is quite common. They wanted me to send it in for repairs to most likely replace the motherboard, which upon reading forums written by some with the exact same issue I had, had to fork over some $200 for a new motherboard or something like that. Some say this is due to a bad BIOS update that bricks the board. Others say it's a faulty motherboard. Whatever the case is, I've owned many computers and none of them died within 24 months. I've built machines over 12 years ago that are still ticking to this day. I bought this one because I'm a fan of small form factor/console style computers and thought this might be a good complement to a larger tower that I don't really use much because it's actually underpowered for even casual gaming, which I do. I did give it 3 stars for versatility because while it was working it was actually quite decent. I did give three stars for versatility and ease of use but that doesn't take away from my suspicion that the hardware itself seriously lacked some quality control issues. And everything I've read in the forums makes me realize what a mistake I made in the end in not reading them BEFORE considering this thing. 2 years later and it's dead. This thing is absolute junk.;;Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2019;;1.0 out of 5 stars;;2 years later and just like that, it's dead.;;Amazon Customer;;;item as described;;Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2017;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Five Stars;;Norman R.
