The bad: it's not tall enough to lean my head back (I'm 5' 8"), so I can't recline all the way back. If you just want to raise your feet up while sitting upright, this chair will be fine for you. Firm, good looking, and well-made. This studded chair, which is a more of deep muted, brown-black faux leather, looks great in my 1920-1940 Hollywood-era room. (Sorry, no shot for privacy reasons.) But just imagination the setting: black walls with large vibrant, colorful gicleé prints of Rudolph Valentino, Douglas Fairbanks, Errol Flynn and Tyrone Power in their greatest roles—each framed in black leather. Abbyson's bonded leather chair/recliner is fit for a sheik, a king, or a sea captain, and it fits right in with the classic theme of the room. What a treasure! Accenting this solid-looking chair are mahogany nesting tables with a working 1930-replica telephone, and brown 1920s lamps with muted cream-leather shades. I received my wise "3-in-1 deal" for the price: 1.) A push-back recliner that is comfortable and supportive. 2.) A stylishly-rugged period chair to compliment Hollywood’s early and boldest heroes in art. 3.) And since it's hard to tell the difference between Abbyson's firm, bonded faux leather from real leather, I received a quality, expensive-looking chair for less! I love this recliner! I wasn't sure how black it would be by the picture, but it's as black as the ace of spades lol Just what I was hoping for. This chair is not meant for big people, I'm fairly small and if I scoot over on the seat I have an extra 3-4 inches. I was concerned with it being faux leather (bonded) and talked with my representative where I purchased my sofa and was told the fabric could crack and peel within 3-5 years. That doesn't bother me because it will get very little use, its more for show and to go with my Big Sky Black Bears, and I'm going to leather lotion it.
