We are using this for our sump pump hose that runs outside. We have this lined on the outside and then the silver insulation wrapped over that. So far it is working great to keep the line from freezing and the line extends across our yard.

I was very happy with the way these work after I installed them. MUCH better than the old style ones that are ON or OFF only and not regulated. You can also cross over the tape and do what ever you want with them. The old ones would burn or short out if you did that. These are excellent.

Temperature sensor is in same end as the power plug. I cannot review the product, since my power source is in the RV bay, the sencor would not read the temperature, unless I used extencion cord in the set up, that I had intended to use this. I keep the product for future. It looks worth to keep. It is light weight, which matters for full time RV:er.

This product is working exactly as advertised. The thickness is quite nice once you arrange it around your spigot; can be a bit unwieldy at first or on a colder day. Once I got it started it was very easy to wrap the entire spigot as it naturally wants to curve due to being shipped coiled up. I would recommend this product.

I used this to line my outside waterline to help from freezing. As to how well it works I will find out over this winter. There is a thermostat on the wire and it is large and unfortunately no instructions on the proper orientation on how to attach to the water line. I will try and reach out to the seller. *Update ok so for us who this is the first time installing.There is a metal sensor on the thermostat you place that sensor directly to the water line. It appears to be upside down but it is correct. I found the proper placement on other one of there heat tapes they sell.

I'd give this zero stars if I could. Got this right before the incoming freeze, plugged it in with the sensor on an ice pack and it doesn't get warm *at all*. It's completely useless and total junk from a Chinese drop shipper. Save your money.
