For many years I used the filtering systems provided with my pools. The water would get cloudy, and green within a week. The amount of chemicals id have to use cost so much money, not to mention what it did to the kiddo’s skin. I couldn’t believe the difference this filter has made. I occasionally have to clean the small filter but that’s about it no more paper replacement filters. No more gallons of chemicals to dump in. I just shock once a week and it’s good. I wish I would have done this years earlier!

Night and day vs the filter that comes with the above ground pool. It's super quiet (don't even know it's on). Cleaning the system is super easy. Highly highly recommended. Best purchase for the price. Only thing is I had to buy a seperate plug since it doesn't have an auto on/off, but that didn't bother me at all

This pump/filter is doing well on my pool (above ground 20' Intex). There are 3 things people need to know before buying this: 1. The power cord is short at about 6 feet long and is not GFCI protected. 2. There is no power switch on the unit. Since you have to turn the unit off to adjust the multiport valve, this can be a PITA. 3. The filter needs 82 pounds of sand (in the amazon specs the number is less, but the filter itself has the correct amount printed on it. Overall the unit works well, and has made my pool crystal clear since installing it. Flow is great, but I doubt it's 3000 GPM. This unit is much quieter than the Intex cartridge pump it replaced. I took off a star because of the items mentioned above, but overall I am happy with this purchase.

Filter works great and easy to assemble. Easy on the wallet too. Much better than the cartridge filter that came with the pool 5' by 10'. I am sure it can handle a bit more than our little dip pool. Price was terrific. It is very quiet when operating.

After putting everything together and getting the pump hooked up, I turned it on and numerous tiny leaks started spraying everywhere. These weren’t leaks that could be fixed with plumbers tape or tightening a fitting. The leaks were springing from the joins in the plastic. Packed it up and returned it the next day. While it was running, the noise was louder than the previous pump we had installed, which surprised me because I read other descriptions that said it was fairly quiet. Thankfully I can get a full refund, but it’s sure a pain to clean out 50 lbs of sand and pack up to take back to UPS. Meanwhile, the search continues for a decent pump.
