Description claims this lock is weatherproof I wouldn't take my chances, it would probably rust then have to use bolt cutters to remove it. I would use this easily for ANY type of locker as long as it's indoors and also a regular tool box , shackle isn't very long so depending on the type of cabinet it might be a struggle. The lock 'housing, is just oversized, in my opinion just for show could've been a smaller footprint while keeping the shackle size the same which isn't very big or thick. again description claims you can use it for gates fences garages sheds that's big NO IMO. Stick to lockers and tool boxes with this lock. This will work perfectly for my use which will be used for a gym locker, I'll only have it locked 2 hours even that's too much time at the gym for me let's be real. I wouldn't trust this for something overnight or a similar situation where you would use this for over an extended period of time unattended. Have it to next to a 'generic' master lock you can compare the profiles and see the master lock is fatter the generic master lock shackle is thicker as well, the length of the shackle is taller on this product but seems to be narrower in between shackles. for about the same price, so now you have to decide your preference do you want the rotating dial combination or a simple 4 digit one. Instructions are on the packaging as well as on the product page, took me less than 2 minutes to change the code. Follow the instructions there should be no issues. It's a pretty average lock, the quality is not there feels 'inexpensive' but for my use to use a gym locker lock for only max 3 hours it's gonna be perfect. I just hope the lock never jams up. This is the best option at this price if you don't want a rotation style lock. Also comes with a nice hard plastic tag for multiple lock organization/labeling, if you decide to purchase multiple. ... show more

I like how easy it was to set my own combination. Just followed the included instructions. Also tested it by changing just one number as instructed. I like how easy it is to read the numbers. I usually have a hard time reading the numbers on combination locks but not on this one. We are using this on the latch of our back gate. Since it’s a solid gate, the padlock is only accessible from the inside. It’s advertised as suitable for “fences” so I’m assuming that it can handle rain, etc. I hope this combination padlock will be able to survive the outdoors. ... show more

Overall a good lock that was easy to configure and has some good heft. My main concern is that it says on the instructions that when you set the passcode, don’t change all the numbers immediately just in case. I’m worried what could cause the passcode and locking mechanism to break. But so far so good. ... show more

I ordered this for use at the gym. I don’t keep anything very valuable in my gym locker so I don’t have much to lose. That’s about how much I trust this lock. I certainly would not use it to lock a shed full of tools but it will keep my coat and work clothes safe at the gym while I am working out. It was easy to program my desired combination. I did this without consulting instructions (it’s pretty intuitive) so I can’t comment on how useful instructions will be for you.
