SO! These are an interesting set of gauges! From what I've researched you can get something very similar at your local harbor freight that actually reads accurately. This leads me to my only complaint here. But it's a big one... The gauges appear to be mislabeled! Indicating turning x way would be open, while y would be closed.. However, the instructions on the gauges themselves seem to actually be backward meaning when you'd assuming to be turning x way, you'd actually be achieving Y result. If that makes sense. I'm now on my third attempt to fill my system. Vacuuming was great, went well etc. But when it comes time to close up the high-pressure side and only open the low pressure... make sure you double-check before you get started, otherwise you'll be doing it all over again - from vacuum to fill. Also, It tells you not to tighten the fittings in the manual, however, I definitely had to because these little guys kept coming loose. The vacuum itself actually impressed though -ran like a champ and never missed a beat! Maybe thats the price you pay for a set of gauges/vacuum kit this cheap? Don't get me wrong it's not a bad set or tool if you know what you're doing. All in all, Worth the money, just required a little more brain power than i anticipated with the gauge/valve reversal situation :) ... show more

Perfect in every way for vacuuming linesets on Mitsubishi mini-split. Didn't even need to use adapters. The blue hose fit directly on the suction port on the Mitsubishi condenser. Vacuumed for 30 minutes and it went off without a hitch. I was surprised by how quiet it is when running and how little it vibrates. Nice carrying case. They pretty much charge you for a pump, and give you a free low quality manifold set. I hooked this up to my mini split to pull a vacuum to test the lines before releasing refrigerant, and the gauge wouldn't get down to -30. Made me think I had a leak, or the pump was broken. Reflared, tightened with torque wrench again, same thing. I decided to close the valve and shut the pump, and the line immediately leaked air. Ordered a separate manifold set from Mastercool, used the same pump, rock solid pull, and nothing leaked. Just buy a pump and separate manifold, these cheap combo deals are exactly that, cheap.
