These fit my Dremel tool like they were made for it (er...), and do a good job on medium-hard woods like oak and maple. There is a bit of a learning curve as always (the crescent tool really likes to buck back, but that's not the fault of the brand, just the shape). These little wood carving bits are very sharp and they cut well. Although keeping them under control was a little bit difficult. It was a learning curve to how to use them without being too aggressive and getting tear out. Good variety of shapes, I just had too much difficulty getting the desired cut from them. Okay, I really suck at wood carving. I am only doing it occasionally and I am no expert whatsoever. This is my first attempt with any wood carving bits and I can say it's not as easy as it looks, lol. I obviously have a lot to learn, but I think this set has really given me the confidence to keep trying. I don't know how carving tools and bits are supposed to work, but I know that I am actually (slowly) learning to make patterns and grooves with this set. If you're trying to learn, this is a small set that will at least give you a feel for wood carving. I have had no issues with these bits at all so I believe they are of good quality, too. I already had a Dremel tool but I didn't want to invest a lot of money into all of the tools for wood carving if I wasn't sure it was for me. I'm going to keep at it and then I will go from there. We were disappointed when the first order went missing on its way here. I reordered and the second order of carving bits arrived quickly. I've had several Dremel tools over the years and have a variety of carving bits to choose from. I was attracted to these because they are a bit different in appearance and I think they will solve some of my Dremel carving issues. I have had some success carving softer woods such as cedar for some of my projects. These small tools will offer some alternative ways to fine tune my carvings. I got this set of wood carving bits in order to experiment with more artful and adventurous carving. …But, in real life, sometimes the first task that needs attention is one more basic and functional. Such was the case with this one. The first task that came my way, was to modify a plunger handle for use in the sink. It performed wonderfully! I used the cylindrical bit (on a Dremel with flex shaft) to shape a curved cup to hold a crossbar. As you can see, it did a great job. I look forward to more adventurous carving with the other bits. Tantalizing! Quivering with potential, ready to create wonders in wood. I look forward to it. *With all those whirring blades, I assume the wise thing is to wear some protective hand-wear. I wore cut-resist gloves, though I don't actually know how well they would hod up to churning carbide blades. ... show more
