All window film/vinyl is a challenge to install so, I won't add that to my rating (as the size, accuracy of your cut and your prep can impact that). This is TRULY a blackout film. We have a large window at the front of our house that's high up and gets great sunlight. The downside is that it also give a greenhouse effect and makes it very hot in the front of the house. This has helped to keep the front of the house a little cooler which is great in this Texas heat. The inside facing side of the film is textured like a flaxen grass cloth. I bought the silver because i wanted a good view out. You can see outside well, and inside is blocked pretty well too. Its hard to install on full windows on your own. It continuously rolls inward making it hard to control and if it the actual sheet crinkles too much, it shows inside and outside and theres no fixing it.
