  • Good quality for the price
Color: Smoke Blue Size: 28
Bought these for my mother. One strap clip was broken out of the box, but once adjusted, didn't need that clip anyway. She likes them a lot. Took her a few tries to get used to the straps but she likes them now. Might get a pair for myself.

  • exceptional entry level snowshoe!
these snowshoes greatly exceeded my expectations! so much so that i just ordered a second pair for my partner! i found these on amazon for about $60, most rentals near me are $25-35, this is such a bargain!!!! if you're not sure about snowshoeing, you really can't go wrong with these! prior to my purchase, i had never gone snowshoeing before. these have been a great place to start! they are super easy to take on and off. to get them on, just slide in your feet and (first time only, adjust the heel strap) then pull the black cord tight - and to take them off, pull the grey cord and slide out your feet. SO EASY! they worked great with my vivobarefoot hi trekker ultralight boot, no discomfort at all. they are also very lightweight, i felt like i could more or less walk normally in them (just a slightly wider gait than usual). i bought the 22" version for myself. im 5'6" and about 130lb in all my snowgear, and these snowshoes worked very well for me. i did sink down about 5in or so in the fresh powder that was over a foot deep, the sweet spot for efficient movement in fresh snow around 3-8in deep, but deeper snow (1ft+ deep) was definitely still very easy to walk through. but if the snow was consistently deeper i might consider the larger size for more flotation, i'll try to update the review after this weekend when i head further up the mountain. and walking on snow that was already packed down was effortless! i did also hike through some sections of trail with very little snow, about an inch or so (and bare in some spots). this was okay, but if this was over rocks or pavement, i would worry about damaging the crampons. i read several reviews where folks complained about those bending over easily, but i suspect they must have been walking over hard surfaces in very shallow snow (<3in), and probably weighed considerably more than i do... if i can see the rocks with my eyes, i'll take off the snowshoes and traverse by foot (esp since these are so easy to take on and off!). i've not tried the risers yet for going uphill, they do look a little flimsy, and are kinda hard to fold back down, but at my weight im sure they'll work fine. overall this is a fantastic set of snowshoes, and i am very happy to have found these! the product and the packaging looks like it's made by a legitimate brand that cares about their product, and not just some fly by night china garbage. would i take these snowshoes on a 20+mi hike into the wilderness where my life depended on them? (lookin at you crazy hiker review guy!) heck no! but for hiking a few miles in the snow on the weekends, i think these will hold up just fine as long as i take care not to walk on hard surfaces in shallow snow. ps - don't forget to take care of your belongings! snow gear needs to come inside and dry off after use. if the joints get stiff over time, lubricate them a little. with a little tlc i bet these will last a long time! ... show more

  • Finally a Snowshoe that is easy to get on and off with cold fingers.
Color: Crystal Blue Size: 22
Once you set your binding to your boot it literally takes only seconds to put these on. One pull of the binding tightener, boom, snug and comfy. When I am done, I use my poles to release the binding by effortlessly pulling the release outward. Then I simply kick or slide my foot out. Best snowshoe ever! They are very light weight. ... show more

  • Lightweight and easy to use
Color: Smoke Blue Size: 22
I've only used the a couple of times but so far they are meeting my expectations for a snowshoe. They are easy to put on and stay in place. They are lightweight so not a burden in the snow. This is so much better than walking without snowshoes.

Color: Crystal Blue Size: 22
Easy on and off. Love the snow shoes but be careful about the Size with Amazon .... they advertise sizes they don't have

  • Poor quality - broke on first use
Color: Smoke Blue Size: 28
The teeth on both snowshoes bent after first use. They are now flattened out and do not dig into the snow as they should. Must be extremely cheap metal since they were used on snow the entire time

  • Once you get the hang of it...
Color: Arctic White Size: 22
This is the first pair of snowshoes I've ever bought, and even though they came late in the season here in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, better late than never in giving oneself a sense of agency. I have snowshoed before a few times but it's been at least 4 years since strapping on a pair of rentals. I decided that having my own equipment meant that, if the spirit moved me to get up the mountain, then all I had to do was put the snowshoes in the car and GO. The first thing that drew me to Wildhorn Outfitters snowshoes was, in fact, the price. Very reasonable I thought and then there was something about the design I liked, although I'm not sure what I even mean by that as I didn't spend a lot of time comparing snowshoes-- I looked at a few pairs online and came back to the Delano snowshoes and that was that. They arrived a few days later and the day after that I was off. I did practice with the straps on my rug at home to get the hang of the strapping and save time at the trailhead. I found the snowshoes easy on and easy off and a great pleasure to walk in and that's the main issue, right? I didn't get into any deep powder with these snowshoes so I can't speak to the rigors of that situation. I think for the price, the Delano snowshoes are a fine purchase. ... show more
