This internal solid state drive from Western Digital is quite good! I have had zero problems with it and have used it for several months and added approx. 105 games or so to it. It was at a reasonable price and it works well! I went with the 2 TB which is great, but in retrospect I should have gone with a 4 TB because it holds twice as many games. It was easy to install and straight forward by following several YouTube videos and doing research on it. I am happy with product overall! Pros: Great internal SSD Works well Holds a lot of games for casual gamers Good company Cons: Might need a teen or adults help to install if you are a child. Limited amount of games can be held compared to 3 TB and 4 TB options ( prices can me comparable when on sale) If you are a serious gamer and like to have a big library of games downloaded or what not then perhaps you may want a bigger TB internal SSD ... show more

Hello to anyone reading this, this is the first review I'm writing, but I'll try to be as informative as possible. I bought the SSD to use on my PS5 (standard edition with bluray disc player, not the slim version), I ordered it on September 4th 2023 and received it on the 12th of the same month. It's May 28, 2024 as I'm writing this, so I've been using the SSD on my console for 8 months now, and I've never had any hardware or software problems with it, the installation was trouble-free and so was the formatting, I use it to store my PS5 games (I keep PS4 games on the main storage) and whether it's for downloading, moving, or simply launching games everything is done quickly, I've never had any slowdowns with it or heating problems. Perfectly capable SSD, fast and easy to install. I was debating on a Gen 5 PCIe SSD, but after some research, I noticed that most cases wouldn't benefit too much from it. When gaming, you wouldn't necessarily see any improvement as it'll be dictated by other factors than the SSD speed. Fast, excellent, and going strong. Excellent temperature dissipation even without a heatsink. My only gripe is it didn't come with a screw to secure it in the M.2 NVME slot. For this price you'd expect one in the packaging! Make sure you have some on hand before buying.

I am such a storage geek! I already had a 1TB M.2 and 3 1TB SSDs in my computer. 4 TBs should be enough for anyone that isn't storing backups or editing a lot of photos or videos, right? Evidently not. OK, to be fair to me, storage geek, my 1 TB had a problem, well, maybe it was a PC problem, but I messed up the drive. The WD Black 4 TB was on sale, so I grabbed it. My motherboard has to M.2 slots, so I just dropped it in, rebooted, changed the boot sequence, and reinstalled Windows 10. (not a Win 11 fan) So, like I said in the headline, easy to install if you build computers. I still have the slightly troubled OS installed on my old WD Black 1TB and my games spread across the 3 SSDs, so I have 3-1/2 TBs of available drive space on my main drive. The drive is plenty fast for me. Windows comes up very quickly and it takes no time to save or open files. It is a great drive and I got it for a nice price. There are faster drives available, but be prepared to pay quite a bit more for them. I don't really know why you would need anything faster. It's like going 80 on the highway for 3 miles to get home faster. You only save a few seconds over going the speed limit. Buy this drive. It hasn't let me down. ... show more

I purchased this so I didn't have to deal with the lunacy of 500gb internal storage that Sony put into their ps5 systems when most games take like 70+GB nowadays. It is ridiculous that to had to shell out money for something that Sony should have had foresight for.
