I have purchased and installed 3 sets of these. I will not be buying them in the future. The first set went on my 2004 Honda Element at 40,000 miles, and 5 years later had more than half the pad thickness left when that vehicle was totaled at 80,000 miles. This was one of the easiest and most satisfying upgrade I made to that car, which I had maintained myself since it was new. No dusting or noise. The rotors were still smooth. All they ever needed was annual cleaning to remove road grit and salt. The same was true of the front pads replaced a few weeks later. I installed a second set on my new/used 2008 Honda Element with new rear rotors to replace the aftermarket ones worn ragged by the poorly fitting composite pads installed for the original owner. They lasted 3 years until a seized caliper overheated the pads and one rotor. I replaced the caliper, rotor and installed another set of Thermoquiet pads. I was going to replace the fronts, but what I received didn't match what I'd been using for +10 years. It lacked the integrally molded sound dampeners shown on the box label, described in the listing, shown on Wagner's website. The pad screening says that new design pads are made in Mexico; they look identical to those of sold under multiple autopart store brands - stamped steel shims with a thin sandwich layer of rubber, glued to the backs with no mechanical fastening besides tabs folded over the edges. Believing that I'd received the wrong item, I contacted Wagner's tech support. They said that what I had received was what they were shipping. Wagner had completely change the design, eliminating the integrally molded sound dampeners that were their only unique feature. They didn't inform ANYONE (Their website, literature and dealer information has STILL never been changed. ) So I bought a set of Bosch pads for the front. Wagner may have had a good reason for the change. The rear set they sent, the old design, lasted only 6000 miles, nearly down to the squealers. The calipers rotors and lines are fine, the fluid has been changed semi-annually, all the caliper guides and shims cleaned and re-lubed annually. i replaced those failed rear Wagner pads with Bosch. It's worth paying a little more to me to get what is advertised. ... show more

UPDATE: after 15k miles, these pads have never made any sound and the dust has been cut by 90%, super happy with this product this product is nice as you don't have to fool around with shims / anti squeal and they really work... silent They come with all new clips, integrated shims and antisqueal compound already sprayed on.... just grease the ends and the caliper pins, slap it together and done... I did both sides in about 20 minutes. I added pics to illustrate, but really it's a no brainer.... as long as you don't let the old pads run out, 99% of the time you can just slap these on and save about $200 and the time / hassle spent saying no to BS repairs at the stealership Notes: - these fit many Hondas and Acuras rear brakes (regular, not S type or Brembo)... but CHECK the fit at Wagners website: [...] - you do NOT use Ceramic pads unless you have a brake system designed for them. If you have an Acura TL, they are OEM ceramic, so if you change rotors, they have to be OEM replacement.... if you get fancy crossdrilled rotors for metallic pads... you MUST use metallic pads... ceramic operate in a different temperature range and will make all kinds of noise in an organic or metallic system... for quiet brakes OEM must equal Rotors must equal pads.... end of story. - you do NOT use anti squeal compound, shims, or brake grease on the back of these pads... it's all built on... if you add shims, the calipers will travel more than designed and can jam.... if you use grease or anti squeal on the backs, you change the op temperature and they will probably squeal... nothing on the backs... - you DO put grease on the clips and caliper pins so everything slides nice... a grease that says it is OK for use with rubber as these calipers have rubber pin boots that will ruin with the wrong grease... ... show more

It's breaks but these are a cut above. for the price they were great, and somebody put working into planing the edges. That's a nice detail, for the person installing them so thanks.

Normally when you replace Honda/Acura pads they squeal for a few weeks-ever so quietly when thy are not OEM. With these I hear NOTHING.
